Let's say that Crimson Desert is an excellent game, but it's filled with tons of small flaws that turn an excellent game into just a good one. Pearl Abyss wanted to merge a lot of features from different games, so we see familiar mechanics, but the overall execution is okay-ish.

We can tell that it indeed comes from an MMO at first, for example with the quests, as the majority are simple in their design. Just talk to someone, go there, talk to someone again, done ; and farm for gathering materials. However, side content is interesting, like taming animals or building quests.

The visuals are gorgeous, nothing to complain about here and the world is really alive. Seeing NPCs doing actual work is impressive and immersive.

As you know, I love modding, and the modding community in Crimson Desert is pretty active. It's a shame that Pearl Abyss didn't include a character Creator (especially when they made Black Desert, which has one of the best character creators on the market) but mods fix that! Now, you can create your own Kliff or Kliffette! Also, a lot of mods add QoL.

The dev team is crazy. They listen to the community and try to improve things and fix bugs every week.

I do recommend Crimson Desert, but be warned that there are tons of activities and PA clearly prioritizes quantity over quality. But if the game clicks with you, you'll have hundreds of hours of content.
