i love ark survival evolved, with my whole entire heart. i have around 5k hours cross plat, and even ran a few servers back in it's prime. genuinely my favorite game of all time, i built so many good memories and relationships.

ascended is pure, unadulterated garbage. the mixed reviews are honestly too generous. i have a brand new pc with very up to date specs, such as a 5080 gpu, which has no problem running plenty of other graphics heavy games (silent hill for example, dbd too, any other unreal engine type games run great on my pc), and it will fully freeze my computer even just booting it up or trying to switch to windowed borderless. i used to be able to get on servers occasionally, but not without crashing after playing for a bit. if i can make it to the server list now (took a longgg break bc i was so irritated with the game) if i try to play modded, it won't even let me download the mods.

the graphics are beautiful, yes, and i was really excited to be able to see ark in such high quality, but even at the lower settings, the optimization is literally horrific. i would rather play a slightly less pretty game as opposed to staring at a pretty tree for a moment before crashing.

i know some people are gonna be pissed at me for saying this but the game became INCREDIBLY pay to win. the paid in game dinos and mods and all that BS are not what ark used to be :(( i miss logging on and not seeing a million ads and ♥♥♥♥. i miss old ark sm.

overall, absolutely one of the worst games i have EVER played in terms of optimization. og ark sucked for it too for a while, but at least servers were playable!!!!!!! og ark would never do me dirty like this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass replica does. -84389274982374897498234/10

so far it's a really fun game! it definitely needs quite a few improvements in my opinion, but overall i think it deserves better reviews!! you can wander around and build and progress in different way, and there are plenty of quests to do. i love all the options for crafting tables even early game, it's fun and not too grindy if you also progress in terms of the storyline. my biggest complaint is quest tracking. i really struggled to figure out where i was going because things weren't pinned properly onto my navigator, resulting in me oftentimes running in circles trying to figure out where i was going. i wish things were pinned onto the map very obviously, as well as very clearly on the navigator. for us people who struggle with navigation, this would be a game changer! i'm also not a huge fan of it being first person, i love looking at my characters but it's not a deal-breaker for me by any means. i'm definitely still learning the game but i do really enjoy it so far, and i'm eager to see how it changes overtime as it still is in early access. that should also be taken into account when reviewing the game! overall cool game and i will definitely be grinding on it quite a bit

this game infuriates me every time i open it but i will probably play it till the day i die so do with that info what you want

it can get a little repetitive, but i love the complexities of the game! it can be very challenging to determine the type of ghost as a new player, but discovering all the things that make a ghost special is really cool and fun!

its a really good, fun game to play with friends, but the griefing can be a lot if you're not careful. once got camped for hours at my camp.
