The horizon cracks to birth the destroyer, black earth under red skies, and the world wails in mourning. The wretched dwellers upon that earth gnash and grope, eyeless and gibbering, garbed in fetid rags.

This Doom, this bringer of thresholds, nameless to itself, sits then upon its lunar throne to watch the crumbling world below. It holds within its right hand the sword called Ender of the Wheel and within its left hand the bell called Caller to the Void.

Across aeons it watches through innumerable eyes. None even of the highest celestial orders know for what its vigilance is spent, though their own never wavers in return.  If again the Destroyer stirs upon its seat of feldspar, none in the world may stand against it.
