Assassin’s Creed Shadows ended up being the most anticipated game in the franchise, not because I was desperately waiting for it, but because it kept getting delayed over and over again. At some point, I honestly got tired of waiting and even considered not buying it at all. But release day came... and of course, I bought it. Is it the same Assassin’s Creed I fell in love with years ago? Not really. Shadows drifts even further away from the spirit of Valhalla and Mirage, carving its own path in a way that might feel strange to long-time fans. Yes, it’s slower, yes, it’s a bit duller in places, but it’s definitely not trash. As someone who’s been a fan of the series from the very beginning, I still find something to love here. And one thing deserves special praise: the optimization. The game runs beautifully, smoothly and stably, which in today’s market feels like a small miracle. Shadows may not be the triumphant return some hoped for, but it earns its spot in the franchise with confidence and, surprisingly, with polish.

So here’s the deal, paisanos. Expectations - sky-high, and I gotta say, first impression hit hard. Graphics looked like they’ve been polished by a crew that knows their business. Real “made man” stuff. But then you sit down, start driving around, bustin’ heads, and the gameplay at first feels… let’s just say like a long sit-down with too much small talk. Kinda flat... But here’s the twist, after a couple of hours you start vibin’ with that old-school pace. It ain’t about runnin’ and gunnin’ like some street punk, it’s about atmosphere, about lettin’ the family drama sink in. And when it comes to story? Forget about it. These writers delivered a tale that could sit at the same table as the classics. I’d gladly replay some missions like a favorite track on the streaming service. Now, the big question! Does The Old Country deserve its place in the Mafia games family? Absolutely! It’s a respectable addition to the bloodline. But I gotta whack it for one thing. 16 hours of playtime. That’s it. Just when I was ready to go deeper into the life, boom, credits roll. Solid entry, top-tier vibe, but too short for me. Still, if you’re part of the family, you can’t skip this one.

Almost two years ago, Criterion Games and Electronic Arts teamed up again to revive a series many thought had lost its way. Need for Speed, a franchise that has seen both legendary highs and forgettable lows, returned with Need for Speed Unbound, a title that caught many fans - including myself - off guard. As a long-time fan of the series, who’s been playing since the original NFS dropped on my IBM PC, I’ve seen the peaks of Most Wanted and Underground and the lows of some entries best left unnamed. I didn’t expect Unbound to deliver the kind of experience that would keep me hooked for hours on end. Yet here I am, almost 400 hours in, with no sign of slowing down - especially with two more expansions on the horizon.

The storyline in Need for Speed Unbound doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, but it leans into what makes street racing culture exciting. You start from the bottom, working your way up through the ranks, competing in underground races while dodging cops and rival crews. The narrative is pretty straightforward, but it serves as a solid backdrop to the racing. What I appreciate is that it doesn’t get in the way of the action. It’s there when you need it, but Unbound knows when to let the gameplay take the spotlight.

As I fired up Red Dead Redemption 2 for the first time in 2023, I couldn't help but feel an immediate sense of regret for not delving into this masterpiece sooner. Rockstar Games, true to form, has crafted an unparalleled gaming experience that seamlessly weaves together an intricate narrative, stunning visuals, and a captivating soundscape.

Let's start with the heart of any great game – the story. Red Dead Redemption 2 is not just a game; it's an immersive journey through the rugged landscapes of the American West, a tale of camaraderie, betrayal, and redemption. Arthur Morgan's narrative arc is nothing short of cinematic brilliance, drawing players into a world where every decision matters and consequences are palpable. The character development is so profound that you find yourself emotionally invested in the fate of not just Arthur, but the entire Van der Linde gang.

Graphically, Red Dead Redemption 2 sets an industry benchmark. In 2023, the game still manages to stand tall among its contemporaries, showcasing Rockstar's commitment to detail. The sweeping vistas, changing weather conditions, and meticulous attention to historical accuracy create a world that feels alive. Riding through the sprawling landscapes, whether on horseback or by train, is a visual feast that never fails to leave me in awe.

The auditory experience is equally impressive. The soundtrack, composed by the incredibly talented Woody Jackson, perfectly complements the on-screen action, enhancing the emotional resonance of key moments. The ambient sounds of the wilderness, the creaking of the saddle, and the distant howl of a wolf all contribute to an immersive experience that transcends the boundaries of mere gaming.

One cannot overlook the meticulous design of the game mechanics. The attention to detail in every aspect, from gunplay to horseback riding, reflects the dedication Rockstar poured into crafting a seamless and authentic Wild West experience. The open-world exploration feels organic, with a plethora of activities and encounters waiting to be discovered, making each playthrough unique.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is not just a game; it's an opus. It's a testament to the potential of video games as an art form. Even in 2023, it stands tall as one of the finest examples of storytelling in the medium. To think that I had delayed experiencing this gem is a regrettable oversight that I wouldn't wish upon any gamer. It's not merely a recommendation; it's a mandate – every gamer owes it to themselves to traverse the sprawling landscapes of Red Dead Redemption 2 and immerse themselves in its rich, evocative narrative. It's not just a game; it's an essential journey that transcends time and deserves a place in the library of every gaming enthusiast.

NBA 2K24 has left me feeling thoroughly disappointed, making it one of the weakest entries in the storied history of the NBA 2K franchise. With a price tag starting at $60, it's hard to justify the cost of what this game brings to the table.

Sure, there are some positives. NBA 2K24 introduces a handful of new animations and updated team rosters, which is expected in any annual sports game release. The revamped Jordan Challenge mode is historical Kobe Bryant mode now. These few additions hardly justify the price point.

The biggest issue is the lack of innovation and substantial improvements compared to its predecessors. It feels like a mere roster update with a few extra bells and whistles, rather than a genuine evolution of the franchise. For those who have been loyal fans and have seen multiple iterations of NBA 2K, this release feels stagnant and uninspiring.

I made the mistake of purchasing the game this year as part of my "default subscription", and I can't help but feel like I've overpaid for what I received. The inflated cost for updated team rosters is simply not justified, and it leaves me questioning whether I'll be willing to make the same purchase next year if 2K Sports offers a similar product.

In conclusion, NBA 2K24 is a lackluster entry in the NBA 2K series. While it maintains some of the franchise's core gameplay, it fails to bring enough new content and improvements to the table to warrant its price. Die-hard fans may find it hard to justify the expense, and I can only hope that future releases from 2K Sports will show a more substantial commitment to innovation and player satisfaction.

Nice trash game for short fun based on Treasure Island animation. My playing time is 59 min non stop, then deleted.

New rosters, same game. If you not NBA 2K fan, be smarter, before you buy.

One of the best Need for Speed ever.
Good graphics, great soundtrack, awesome, but too short story.

NBA 2K20 is amazing on the playground. The new physical model, the impact of the new defensive system and the fine tuning of the gameplay is something valuable which give to basketball lovers endless possibilities. Perfect GM mode is very good and 2K business model for MyTeam is still make me happy. The good news is that microtransations are quite useless in MyCareer mode, which thanks to King James work shines again to its original beauty.
