Early Access Review
I've been playing since launch and have enjoyed the game play greatly. My problem with the game is the bait and switch nature of card ownership. Using tokens to buy cards would be fine except for the fact that you will only get a month or two out of the card as originally purchased. Galactus is the latest example of a bait and switch. Used 6000 tokens to acquire it. Galactus was a 6-cost 2-power card, with "On Reveal: If this is your only card here, destroy all other locations." post-nerf he is now a 6-cost 7-power with "On Reveal: If you're winning this location and this is your only card here, destroy all other locations." This is a significant change. I am not opposed to balance changes. I am opposed to balance changes with no refund of either partial or full retrieval of cost of acquisition. Balance all you want but give me something back for fundamentally altering the thing I acquired. If I get nothing back it is essentially a bait and switch scheme. Something similar to Hearthstone's dust recovery would be very welcome here. As it stands now I am done with the game.

Edit: For those wondering, my playtime is mostly on Mobile and it is much larger than what is stated on Steam. I am Collection Level 5923 and have all cards in pool 1,2, 3, and 4. I have almost all Pool 5 cards (missing 5) at the time of leaving this review. I am not just a Galactus player either.

StS stands on it's own as a singular light in the darkness of modern gaming. This is a game that will still be played and studied a decade from now. t's tightly balanced and nearly perfect in every way. I commend the developers for crafting something so seemingly simple yet nearly impossible to master. That in my opinion, is the hallmark of excellent game design. This is the nearly perfect deck-builder roguelike all the other card games hope to be. I suppose you could knock its aesthetic, I wouldn't, I find it charming and lo-fi without being cliche. My only gripe is that progression is not tracked across platforms. I play on PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and iPadOS and really wish I could have the same achievements, and play continuity across them all.

Look, most of you have played PAC-MAN. You're probably thinking why would I ever want to play that game again. I mean sure it was fun.... in the 80's. This is the first PAC-MAN game that actually improves on the traditional gameplay. It's actually better than the original which is nothing short of remarkable. It's hyperkenitic, addictive, and visually awesome. It's PAC-MAN that goes to "11". I rarely purchase a game more than once. I own this on Xbox, PC, iOS and Windows Phone 8.1. I think it is pretty safe to say that I recommend this game.
