it's a fantastic game, i'm just annoyed all my friends are better than i'll ever be. fortunately this is not a negative review because there is a setting to disable leaderboards to save my ego. now if only this game could get me around the psychological hangup of playing on baby mode so i have a chance to see the late game levels without needing to do any introspection

Fun zany party game, reminds me of some online games I played way back when but without the advertisements and with cranked up intensity and memes.

- Lots of weapons, maps, game modes, and bosses, and each game only lasts a couple minutes. It's something you can jump in and out of quickly, or play for a while without getting bored.
- Only takes a couple minutes to learn the basics, but takes much longer to get good.
- Has bots so servers don't feel empty despite player count, although it's probably best experienced chilling with friends in a call imho.
- Private servers have an admin interface to spawn in any enemy, weapon, or transition to any map+gamemode, as well as other misc. admin doodads.
- It's competently programmed and designed, one standout part I liked being the user interface, and doesn't use AI for any assets.
- Has references to TF2, MLP, various other cool things, lots of memes.

It deserved/deserves more marketing and popularity.

Don't buy this at full price (it goes on sale regularly)

the password to the rar archive in the bootstrap folder in the game files is "mandick", and when you look at their youtube channel or check out windpipe.exe in a hex editor it becomes apparent this is the maturity level of the developer for pretty much everything they do. props for being consistent but the 2010s called and they want you back

also:
- zero chance it'll work in proton out of the box with the insane jank setup for custom achievements, presumably to avoid having to compile mapbase
- the game just sucks? usually i try to be more positive when a game is free but this actively wasted my time and has horrible level design. it's clear they were trying to make their maps intentionally bad, but that's only fun when the mapper has talent. if the mapper is bad to begin with the maps are just worse than bad. you have to turn on cheats and set mat_wireframe to progress through a lot of the maps
- there's ai slop textures in it which are undisclosed on the store page

builds on the lore of Tartarus Engine (one of the Unsorted Horror games) so play that first if you want. another mike klubnica banger
