Starts out as a simple survival simulator in a western-themed scifi and becomes a tightly coordinated machine of colonists and rules, carefully flaying every shred of value from even the corpses of those who are fool enough to attack you. Mods galore make this game go from merely-life consuming into an eternity of potential gameplay. Spend your days farming to your hearts content and building pretty flooring designs...or become engrossed in the story of your two original colonists as they fall in love and start a family...or train a menagerie of trained llamas...or build a strike team to hunt down your enemies and nuke them...there are so many ways to play that there is something for everyone here.

This game is GREAT.

What looks like a simple, cheap racer actually has DEPTH FOR DAYS. I can time trial on the same track for hours and still find more time to shave off with new techniques. The campaign is HARD. Super hard. Racing friends is fun.

TLDR if it looks good to you buy it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this game. it's excellent.

Looks simple and shallow. Actually has TONS OF HIDDEN DEPTH. Lots to explore and learn about this game. Theorycrafting galore. I find myself spending a lot of time musing over the mechanics and that's not what I expected from an "autobattler" that should just be a simple homage to Heroes of Might & Magic.

HOMM fans will love this of course but everyone else may find themselves surprised by the level of mechanical complexity in this supposed autobattler. There's more manual control in the battles than I thought there would be. The hero leveling system is deep and offers lots of real choice. The AI is challenging but not too hard. Coop is good. (Supposedly network multiplayer is still in the plans but not yet, although playing through parsec with a friend works fine.) There's even a PVP scene on discord.

Getting way more than I bargained for out of this game. If you like theorycrafting your builds, give this one a shot. You may be pleasantly surprised too.

Fantastic game. I have thousands of hours in it. I use steam for it now because I like having steam manage the files for me. Particularly noteworthy parts:

0) This game competes on a totally even footing against subscription MMOs but has no subscription!

1) The WvW gamemode which puts big groups against each other in open world PVP. Matches last a full week nonstop. Tons of fun.

2) The combat mechanics which are so much more fluid, alive, and skill-oriented than many other MMOs. Do not expect to stand still and press the same keys in the same order for hours!

3) XP sidegrading instead of a gear treadmill. If you leave the game for a few months and come back your stuff still works! It's great to feel like the game appreciates me enough that I can take a break and come back and pick up the game again without being punished for that.

4) One of the most friendly communities in gaming today. Other games players compete to harvest tears from new players. In GW2 A recent forum argument was had over *how far it was acceptable to go when welcoming new players to the game.*

Basically: wonderful game. Wonderful graphics. Something for everyone.

They say it, and they aren't wrong: "There is nothing else like it." Planetside 2 has had 7 rocky years of maturation but the result is a very fun game that still has potential to grow further. I come back to it regularly because FPS combat is just *different* when there are hundreds of people involved than if there's 48v48 in a battlefield game. I absolutely suggest everyone gives this game a shot, but be aware: this game has no training wheels. You can be dropped into hopeless situations, have your entire battle line cut off, find yourself staring down the barrel of a tank or being shelled from far away. This game does not shelter you from being outmatched, and outmaneuvering the others while knowing when to retreat and save yourself is a big part of the uniqueness of this game. There is something here for everyone, but it might take patience to see it.

This game is legend. There is nothing like it. A little bit of japanese oddness that rolled into the world and stays in your heart. A catchy game, an innocent game, a fun game. A legendary game.

Oh, fun soundtrack too.

If you're looking for a battle royale, this game covers the needs and has some fun innovations. I made a friend right away.

Population was super low though.

They tested out capture the flag though and I really enjoyed that. If they bring it back Ill come back but for now I'm not looking for a battle royale.

This game used to be a confused mess, but lately it has really come into its own and my friends and I can't stop playing it!

I was always disappointed in minecraft how I could build these massive castles but nobody ever attacked them aside from the random creeper or skeleton. In this game, you can build the epic base you've always wanted, but it has to be practically defended against the hundreds of zombies who will attack you every seventh night!

Plus the shooting mechanics are way fun. I love my SMG.

At least 5 of my friends have recently started playing this regularly. It's just gotten really good.

Great racer, incredible soundtrack. Challenging without being insane.

The only thing I miss is wipeout's zone mode and this would be a perfect racing game for me.

This is a solid RTS with a lot of fun to be had and a lot of replayability, but some serious annoyances. It's a LAN party favorite of ours, and plays really well as a comp-stomp game and as a single player story RTS. I havent tried any competitive against humans. That's usually a different beast.

However, there are a lot of reasons it's not perfect. Part of that is it's just not my kind of RTS. I like to have one unit and take good care of it. This game really demands a streaming economy where you just throw units at the enemy. I often don't play as well as I could because I'm having fun microing my units when I should be following the macro game and building more production.

There are niggling imperfections that will bother you like they bothered me too. For example, there is no way to tell your units to hold position. They will frustratingly be led out of position easily by enemy probing attacks. Similarly I can't find any way to do a fighting retreat. Your units are either fighting, or they are turning around completely and running without shooting back at all. Lastly, turning an army is an exercise in annoyance as they try to hold formation so hard that it gets them killed. When you're suddenly attacked in the flank you can lose half your army just turning to stary moving away.

Stability has also been a problem. Several of my friends crash when playing.

All of that said, it's a unique and enjoyable game.
