Latest update forces you to install Denuvo Anti-Cheat, a kernel mode driver. It qualifies as both rootkit and malware, as it has access to system resources that it should not have access to, and it can communicate with services and sites without the users knowledge. Several anti virus vendors do qualify it as malicious.

You cannot play the game, even in single-player, without it installing/reinstalling itself.

DENUVO IS ROOTKIT & MALWARE.
