While the PC port is terrible and requires modding to become playable (just use Wabbajack) it really was ahead of its time, the fact they only had 18 months to develop this masterpiece not only makes me wonder how they pulled it off but what they could have done if they had more time.
If your interested in playing a 3D Fallout title for the first time, this would be the one I'd recommend.
You could even install Tales of Two Wastelands to experience Fallout 3 at the same time.

Crisp visuals, engaging physics based AI. Breeze to progress compared to other extraction shooters like Tarkov. However when the PVP starts, I am reminded how much I've fallen off.

The game currently performs very poorly. While my rig ain't new, it certainly ain't old. Performance is all over the place, sometimes outdoors you can reach about 100, until you enter a dense area such as a populated village and it drops to 30-50. This makes the game feel slow and sluggish, which is not very good when it's got a huge emphasis on combat. This is with Frame-Gen+DLSS Quality+Medium/Low settings mind you. If you are hoping for a smooth, 144fps+ low latency experience all around, you will be disappointed. I would wait until they optimise the game. Consequences of using URE 5.0 I guess. I will change my review to positive once performance is fixed/improved enough as other than performance, the game is great.

Poor performance even with low/medium settings with Frame-Gen+DLSS Quality.

The definitive "We're ♥♥♥♥♥♥" experience.
