As a channel with a smaller follower count (772), I still have a channel view count of 8,749 because those 772 people have returned multiple times. The implication of follow-botting still stands, particularly when those followers are a majority of random number and letter strings (i.e followers 'h2iadggfg345' and 'tcq2s2had' and 'z2d80nti4'). I stand completely by my accusations unless you managed amass all of these followers and yet nobody actually viewed any of your content.
