Hollow Knight was a Metroidvania through and through. The fun was exploring, finding secrets, talking to weird NPCs, soaking in the atmosphere. That’s the heart of the genre. It was calm, rewarding, and just enjoyable.

Silksong? It doesn’t feel like a Metroidvania anymore. It feels like a wannabe Souls like. Everything hits like a truck. Bosses deal two masks, even trash mobs chew you up, and every fight is tuned to punish you. It’s not tense, it’s not exciting, it’s just exhausting.

And don’t start with the “git gud” garbage. That excuse is brain dead. This isn’t Dark Souls. It’s not supposed to be about dying a hundred times to the same boss while running back over and over like some masochist. A Metroidvania is about exploration. It’s about discovery. Go read about it.

Yes, Pharloom looks amazing. The world is stunning. But I can’t enjoy exploring it because I know the next damn boss fight is around the corner, ready to waste an hour or two of my time before I can move on.

Bottom line? Silksong forgot what it was supposed to be. It’s a Metroidvania, not a Souls like clone. Until the devs fix the cracked difficulty and put the focus back on exploring instead of endless boss cycles, it’s just a cool world ruined by the wrong design.

P.S. For the “git gud” crowd: no. This isn’t about skill. It’s about genre. Silksong is a Metroidvania. Start acting like it.

Early Access Review
A gym, but for your aim. It will help even though at first you may not see it, but it will improve your gaming experience if you put in the hours. It gives results just like a good diet plan and consistent gym regime would, slow and monotonous, but worth it (maybe) in the end. Plus, its free !

An overclocked Runescape, but in a good way. Combat is a bit difficult to grasp, especially PvP, and you need a friend group preferably to enjoy it fully. Would recommend atleast giving it a shot. I met some people early on so my experience was pleasant. Great to play with friends.

Timeless classic zombie shooter, best in its genre, great for when you just want to do nothing but relax and shot zombies in the face.
