Early Access Review
This is definitely not for everyone.
BUT this is perfect for DnD players who might also be new parents. COMPLETELY playable with one hand, if you're a new parent looking for something to do with a baby in your other arm.

It is definitely a mindless, cathartic, idle game that you can sit down at for a few minutes then walk away from. No massive pressure "login" every 15 minutes. You can still make progress just poking at it whenever you have a chance to sit for a few minutes.

I'm guessing lot of people who would appreciate the Faerun lore tidbits and the small storylines are probably "adulting" pretty hard right now, and this definitely fits that over-worked-but-need-something-to-click demographic.

That might not make a lot of sense to younger players, but I'm sure there are plenty of Steam users out there who understand.

This is a double-sided recommendation.
Recommended when it's on sale or in a bundle. :)
Not Recommended if you're a hardcore 4x fan looking for a large, in-depth, challenge.

This is a fun time-killer, not a sprawling in-depth civ game.
It's roots as a mobile app are apparent in it's simplicity and short game length.

It's short play-through time is a boon, in this case, though. Because it's a fun romp that's, relatively, easy to master (on lower difficulties) most gamers should find it to be replayable a handful of times. Which makes it easy to grab the handful of 'unlocks' for 'Beyond Earth'.

TL;DR
It is enjoyable, even fun. ;)
A casual Civ player would most likely enjoy this for what it is. A tie-in to 'Beyond Earth'.
Buy it discounted or bundled.

Great game!
Hilarious, fast paced, great characters and just fun all around.
It's awesome to play with friends, but just as enjoyable running solo. The DLC is great, too! Just making a good game better. :)

One of my favorite games of all time!
I still have the original discs, but the little touches they've added to BGee have definitely made it that much nicer to play. New characters, character kits, all the BG1 content rolled into a single install, bug fixes and the arena ... definitely a good value for people who can still enjoy this style of game. :) Can't wait to get BGII:ee!

Another great $5-$10 value.
It's quick, it's cute, it's simple.
It's not very "in-depth", but that's not really the goal. For kids of the 80s (and early 90s) it's a nice trip down memory lane. The whole game is a tongue-in-cheek take on gaming through the ages.

I love it! Easily something that can be completed in a day (or two, depending on your spare time).

I love point-and-clicks, they're a lost art. Or so I thought.
Deponia is quick and amusing, I did "cheat" at parts when some puzzles were not obvious to me. Definitely recommend this game (especially if it's on sale). I'm looking forward to playing the next two. :)
