So to phrase things, I like this game. I've been playing it since near the beginning. Gameplay is generally quite good. While the grind can feel excessive at times, I like the general lack of fomo. And throughout Arrowhead's many missteps, they tend to fix things in the long run.

But this is a case where there is another misstep. And I need to give a -1 to help encourage the devs on the right path. Blocking off access to medals to players who are coming back after a hiatus is not going to reinforce player numbers. It'll just make the casual players more easily bounce off, meaning the only players who will stick around, are the hardcore players this change would not affect anyway. For example, I, and many others, have a life, a job, responsibilities, and we cannot dedicate our lives to a single game as a job. But we held this game dear because when we came back, it was relatively friendly to us. Me and my friends were about to come back to celebrate the new warbond, but when we realized not one of us got any medals, we decided to just watch some anime instead. My friends like to usually buy the new warbond, sometimes with cash, use the medals for a few free initial items, and then grind out the rest, but now, we are not even playing the game, not even giving you money.

I hope the medals gets reversed. Keep the game friendly to casual players. Don't punish us for having lives. If I wanted to feel pressured to play a game every day, I'd be playing Fortnite instead.

The greatest waste of time I've had the pleasure of playing. So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Avoid buying the base game. It's not worth it.

I made the mistake of buying the game when I thought it was on sale, only to realize that the Deluxe edition existed.

The developer does not give you a choice to buy these after the fact, and the DLC associated with the deluxe edition is rather expensive, even on sale, when compared to the Deluxe Edition.

Not friendly to those who bought the base game, either as early adopters, or accidental buyers.

Simulation game itself is fun, but I have heavy buyers remorse for not doing enough research to purchase the game package I want.

Too much DLC, some of which is near essential to play. Microtransactions are now a thing, and balancing for weapons is off, and at times unrealistic.
