Beautiful and grotesque

The Awesome:

- Catchy music.
- Fantastic art style that pioneered and innovated.
- Addicting gameplay that mixes classic roguelike elements (though very simplistic) with a twisted version of an Animal Crossing village.
- Simple story that has just enough substance to stay engaging without being too distracting.
- Just the right amount of content for you to want to see all of it without it becoming too repetitive.
- Post-game content (somewhat similar to Terraria's Hard Mode) that gives you additional 10+ hours of gameplay and story.
- Almost flawlessly executed local co-op, virtually seamless and 100% completable with a friend from the start to the very end.
- Two additional game modes with increased difficulty as an incentive to replay the game one or more times.


The So-So:
- Lack of depth to combat: you wouldn't want to stay longer to experience more of it.
- The roguelike part of the game is much weaker than the village part: there's little to no variety from one run to another.
- The cult depends on you way too much early game.

Though flawed, the game is very charming and unique. Its edgy-cute aesthetic hit just the right string in my soul, making it one of my favorite games ever. Highly recommend it.
