The world feels dead. Yeah, I know, it's postapocalyptic, but it feels plastic dead, cardboard dead even. The fights are too arcadey. Just go back to GTA or something.

This is definitely the best thing I've played in LOTS of time. Make no mistake, this isn't "a sandbox" or "a survival" game, even though it is. The progression in this game is wonderfully thought, so there's never a feeling of grind and pointlessness.

10/10, will keep on eating slightly radioactive soup made out of interdimensional dogs.

This game is an OK arcade looter shooter, just like the rest by Ubisoft, so take it with a whole lot of discount. However, Ubisoft Connect is such a piece of ♥♥♥♥ software, and their tech support is so absolutely useless that I cannot recommend this to anyone. Just wait for a 100% discounted version to come out elsewhere.

An extremely slow Dune wannabe with a clunky FPS. Just... not yet, at least.

This is *the* zombie survival game. The most ruthless, complex, frustrating and rewarding zombie game. If you don't like it, you're just tasteless ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

10/10, would find NPCs who committed suicide bybleach again.

This game was great - nice graphics, cool weapon handling, interesting perk items, physics, sounds and so on. Then it became P2W. Just don't waste your time. You're gonna crawl for half an hour through the map, looting, killing some enemies on the way, until you realize the last enemy squad is composed of paid characters that confer them ridiculous abilities (such as kilometric jumps with one-hit kill strikes from above, or teleportation).

♥♥♥♥ this model, honestly.

Best GTA clone ever.
BONUS: Accurate recreation of post-Soviet Russia:
- uninspiring architecture
- pedestrians don't even react to you driving on the sidewalk
- cops don't *really* try to get you
- cars start jiggling after getting close to top speed
- runs on any potato
- huge servers filled with Brazilian teenagers

10/10, would invest an hour of my Sunday again

This "game" is a SCAM. All the dialogue options that seem like they could alter the story are always the same one, no matter what you choose. So, for instance, someone who you are talking to mentions a pirate named Deep Throat. Your options go something like this:

"Deep Throat? What a stupid name for a pirate?"

"Deep Throat? Is my wife's mother visiting?"

"Deep Throat? Isn't the throat wider than it is deep?"

Whichever one you choose, the main character answers "Deep Throat?" and the NPC tells the only scripted line that is possible in that conversation. This is not an adventure game. Thos is hardly even a story, as the lack of context, apart from the seemingly imaginary answers that the main character gives out as options, make it a dull hand-holding technicolor 3D experience. DO NOT BUY

Since this game originally appeared here, it has had many changes. Over the years, I've always been a huge fan of the immersiveness that this game provides, of the realistic sounds (you can hear the echos and dinks!), and of the great community that surrounds it. Only one thing had stopped me from becoming the gamerest gamer of this game, and it was the inability to play it natively on Linux. I did run it in Wine without much trouble, but it still had some issues with the soundsystem, and in the end I opted to just dualboot for gaming purposes. About a month ago, I managed to destroy my Windows partition, and now have only Linux.

For a long, long time, I would open my Steam Library and almost poop my pants whenever I saw Insurgency on the top of the list (favourite games tab). Up until today it had always been a disappointment - the Library showing all owned games as opposed to only those that run on Linux. But today... Today it happened for real. I cannot express the happiness. I checed three times to make sure it wasn't some sort of strange glitch. Now, I'm downloading the game.

Thank you, devs. If it matters at all, you just made a grad student a lot happier :)
