As a standalone game, I can't recommend this. The campaign-specific mechanics just aren't fun. However, if you already have Warhammer 1 and 2, and most of the DLC, and you really like Mortal Empires... As things stand I'd say it's worth getting. Immortal Empires makes a number of nice improvements to corruption, the update to Warriors of Chaos is amazingly good, and you can finally conquer (almost) the whole world. There are still things that need fixing - Immortal Empires is still in beta - but if you enjoy the prospect of taking your favourite faction on a grand campaign... I think it's worth it.

Update: the inclusion of Immortal Empires in the base game without ownership of TW1 or TW2 means I can now recommend this :)

A casual number-go-up deckbuilder that will eat all your time if you're anything like me. Well worth the asking price.

Early Access Review
A really fun way to kill half an hour with loads of replayability and incentives to try out different things.

Do you like Warhammer Fantasy (not Age of Sigmar, this isn't for you)? Do you like building a massive empire and a massive army? Have you ever thought, "Feh, what does Archaon know about destroying the world?" If the answer to all those questions is yes, this might be the game for you. (if you want to do that last one you'll need the previous game as well, and at least one of the DLC if you want to do it as Chaos or Norsca)

Free Spider-Men! (and a Spider-Girl) Sadly that's all it has, but it won't cost you a penny, so it's still good. Maybe one day we'll get Venom and Black Cat back... The included Spideys are the classic Spider-Man/Peter Parker, the Iron Spider - as seen during the Civil War arc in the comics - the Scarlet Spider (poor Ben...), Ultimate Spider-Man/Miles Morales, and the new Spidey costume from the Civil War movie. We also get a blonde Spider-Girl I don't recognise... So yes, Spider-Man is here!

There's a lot of potential under the surface here, sadly wasted by the obtrusive presence of the movie licence throughout the story, which continues to make its dark presence felt in the limited character pool. This is an Avengers game first, and a Lego Marvel game second. Aside from this problem - and it's a big problem, which is why I wouldn't recommend this game - Lego Avengers builds on the free roam elements of Lego Marvel and Lego Batman 3, with a selection of smaller hubs to explore, and Manhattan itself to galavant around, finding collectables and stopping crimes. It's a real shame the Avengers licence gets in the way so badly, but if TT make a Lego Marvel 2 with the wider access to Marvel's character pool seen before, it should be just what we want.
