Early Access Review
A really excellent sequel that I'm very excited to follow to it's full release.

Negative review bombing balance patches is unproductive, harmful, and sends the wrong message to both devs and potential fans. They have an in-game feedback system. This was literally their first major patch and a lot of the changes trickled in on the beta branch. I don't know what else to say. I have full faith in Megacrit to polish this game to a beautiful sheen, however long it takes. If sts2 still maintains mixed reviews by full release, for those reading reviews I hope to make sure that the negative reviews aren't just salt posts.

Fully voice acted, and surprisingly thoughtful dialogue and plot. Good top-down shooter gameplay, lovely and varied scenes. It's refreshingly progressive, and I'm happy I played.

Some constructive criticism: It's a bit boring to not have any agency in character progression (the most you can do is change what singular item they have equipped), and the mission types got repetitive. I enjoyed reading the planet blurbs but there are just a hundred too many.
I also wish the controller and steam deck support was better. Really awkward.
And finally, the auto play dialogue occasionally skips too early

Work of art. It unabashedly takes a stance, and if you don't like it the game itself will flip you off. Music is resistance, go start a revolution!

Very much an art game. It's as described! No tricks, just the occasional quip inserted in between your flips. I think the costs are a little bit insane though

The weapon updates are amazing. The core gameplay feels really fun.

No Cat chefs though?

Excellent game, addicting game loop, wide variety of well-made encounters. Lots of build paths, unique weapons and crewmates.
In-depth difficulty customization, though I picked Elite for myself and it's perfect. Sometimes I only make it out by the skin of my teeth. Other times I find really insane angles and bounces and am able to make a clean getaway.

The over-world naval combat is pretty fun too. Can't neglect your submarine or your piloting skills!

Steamworld Heist 1 was what put this studio on my radar and they've delivered time and time again!

Sometimes rough around the edges, but Indiana Jones surprisingly isn't an Uncharted game rip off. It has engaging puzzles, immersive sim environment design, and a control scheme and design that dares to be different. The ending leaves quite a bit open and I'm looking forward to the next game.

Excellent art direction. Takes a little while to open up in complexity but when it does, it becomes a riveting action and real-time strategy game.
