Last time I played Yugioh before this one was in the early 2000s as a kid.

Friends play Yugioh and as a Hearthstone player I thought its worth checking out a TCG that isnt based on a spaghetti code with a server thats powered by a 20 year old hamster on monster energy drink.

So I decided to play masochist without any knowledge about the game.
Its the better approach as a noob in my humble opinion as I can start slowly into it and just figure stuff out step by step.
Theres also no pressure as i dont really expect to win anyway. I cant stress the mental pressure from instantly obtaining something meta and being expected to win against bad enemies enough as a noob. Im too old to willingly be plagued by that.

So far I really loved genuine duels vs. other masochists. Its really interesting and new to me that a card game can run without DC, bugged interactions or general 10s+ server sided lags. The cards even stay where i put them on the field and dont randomly wander off outside the right side of my screen. Nor do they suddenly sell themselves.

BUT there is no masochist only mode, which I would love as a newcomer as it allows me to actually learn the game and test stuff more consistenly.
Which isnt possible against roughly 60-70% of the duels since its against some meta slaving hard stuck on platin 5 gigachads.

I must confess, everytime I duell one of these meta clowns i just cant but imagine some fedora wearing discord mod who has an orgasm from hearing himself talk about how he will summon this and that to go ultra giga mega big and beyond universal galaxy black hole powerscale of a thousand universes.. FOR 5 MINUTES ON HIS TURN ONE ALONE.

just to be bricked by my messenger of peace and slowly getting bullied by my flytrap until he dies..

Which really is commendable. I do not know any other game where such sweaty tryhards will really sit through 40+ turns in an obvious loss.. in a fight where they cant even lose rating (?) My longest game was around 1.25 hrs long with that exact meta setup and that dude really insisted on trying in each and every turn.

And im a vanilla WoW player.. I know people that gank the same 3 guys for the past decade because they ninjad a blue item in a lvling dungeon that was worth 20g..

Oh and theres some bots. Idk if these SZ or AZ or whatever its called FTK Build are bots. If yes, theres a few of those, like 10-15% maybe on platin 5?
The real obvious bots i rarely met. Which is sad since theyre free win. Maybe 2-5% if at all.

Pro

- Masochist is fun

- There seems to be a countless amount of archetypes, atleast one will hit your spot

- opening a pack and seeing that sweet weather report is like opening your xmas gift and seeing a n64 as a child. Man i wish this card was useful. I was and still am considering to include it in my deck just to set it next to my flytrap in a messenger of peace fun game.

- the fights can really be diverse and interesting depending on match up and starter hand

Cons

- There is no masochist only mode (This con is insanely large con, the greatest con of all cons!! It is the perfect gamemode for actual enjoyers and especially newcomers!! It also keeps away the incompetent meta slaves as they would need to actually think for themselves to put a deck together instead of following a streamer yt or other form of online guide)

- The card texts are written in a juridical manner and sometimes you have to read the text of 40 cards and some twice and thrice to even get the core concept of a non working deck (and that even wrong).

- Games between proper decks are over way too fast

- the avg. playerbase on low rating is way too supported by their cards, incompetence shouldnt be carried by a deck.

Now to the tldr

Overall nice game, needs masochist only mode. other than that its fun and addicting

Like many people already said. its similar to lethal company or repo.
However (a big one), it approaches the type of game in a better way than the others.

lethal focus is on horror. Dark places with a ton of deadly monsters, requiring you to check your back at all times.
this game doesnt. its rather comedy than horror.

There is not that many gadget as in lethal as well as monsters.
I blame the young age of the game tho.
It doesnt make you check your back all the time (one exception).
What it does is messing with you and creating chaos. once it established that chaos it will get you.

Many negative reviews say the AI of the mimics is predictable and obvious, which is true for the first 1-3 runs.
but they do get more convincing, more aggressive and they will mess you up harder the longer the game runs.

If you split 2/2 in a run and end up running for your lives, getting split up and then reaching a save spot. Will you really know instantly if the dude next to you is your friend or a mimic?
Will you hesitate?
Will you run away?
Will you attack?

A handful of options and each could end up being vital while the others could end your run.
I dont think my few bucks have been wasted on this game already despite it being so young.
New content will just be the icing on the cake from here on.

PS: Concerning the AI.
We are swiss. Our language has no grammar. Its incerdibly hard to learn. But the ingame AI actually manages to put our sentences into the correct context when mimics talk. Not 100% of the time but too often to claim it coincidence. Its quite astounding when you grew up with old games

Survival game with an impressive depth which i havent seen since Stalker Anomaly.
But it has even more than Anomaly.

It's rather slower paced.

I highly recommend to play it with mods (day one and bandits).
Why? Bandits mix stuff up. Day One gives you a short term goal and writes the first sentences in your chars story.

The game itself doesnt have any objective or purpose for you. Its up to you to find it.
Buy the game if you dont mind the lack of objectives in the game and can find your own purpose.
Do not buy it if you are the type of guy that requires these objectives and drop a game once you finished it.
Or atleast think twice about it!

The start is easy, you will get a lot of stuff in no time. After obtaining your first car, military gear and weaponry as well as a proper stockpile of everything, It can feel like youre done with it but dont fall for it.
The game only really starts after a few weeks have passed. If you dont wanna wait that long, you can just accelerate that world progression in the settings of your save.

Or at least do not create a new world every time you die. Stick to the same world even if you play at the other end of the map with your next char!

This game made me care about the smallest details, i dont really think ive ever had that before.

Bug fiesta as expected.
Several leading to hardlocking yourself from further progressing mainstory
the basic spawn distance is utter trash and A-Life seemingly non existant.
The AI sometimes feels dumber than in Gamma/Anomaly
Economy worse than greece.

The story is cool, gun gameplay good.
Side quests cool aswell.
Sadly no real grind for anything like in Gamma, but thats what this week was for me, reintegrating into non-Gamma Stalker.

In its current stage this game is pure chaos but still manages to be legendary.
I will fight myself throug the last few main story quests asap and then wait for proper bugfixes and mods.

Make sure to F5 hard and F5 often. You dont know when a bug is gamebreaking from the mid-game on.

Playing Britannia feels like playing Attila Lite.

Attila is my favorite Total war since Empire.
The adjustments in Britannia are good aswell.
The AI is a little better in Britannia and the graphics too.

Considering the current alternatives in Total war, Britannia is the best of them.
Have no regrets playing it and will probably switch between Attiila and Briitanniia back and forth, dependinig on how much iii wanna iinvest iin a gameplay.

Dear people. This is a beautiful fun game. Just like i said in my hell let loose review. If you can reserve longer hours for gaming (half a day r ecommended) this is a masterpiece. the king of the hill mode is just fun fun fun. for the AA camper to the jet spawnkillers and us humble taxi choppers, i loved it.

Wouldnt play it solo tho, could be boring attimes.
