Hero to Zero!

On launch, this was fantastic! A new world for us all, filled with things to do and curious, happy people to do them with :)
That bubble of euphoria was soon popped though.

This is a beautiful looking MMO with a lot of fun things to do (and see) whilst levelling up. The amount of variety isn't much in terms of questing, but if you're having fun (and others are too) then that's a good thing!

Sadly, as you level up, the fun goes down as your level goes up.
To put this simply, if you can survive the brutal change of pace in the last 10-15 levels, you're going to be pretty non-rewarded with things to do at end-game.

There have been a LOT of obvious issues with this game to date. We're not talking about small things the majority won't be able to replicate. There's things that affect the whole server (like unplayable lag in end-game wars for one example).

I'd like to make it clear though, that Amazon have been pretty good with fixing bugs pretty quickly. Speaking to friends that have heard about some of the on-going news, they may ask why I play something with duplicated gold and issues like people dragging their game windows making them invulnerable etc... I'm quick to tell them how they're talking about stuff fixed weeks ago... Which sounds good on paper but the reality from playing this is - They seem to fix one thing and then make 2 other things worse..

On the other hand, I've been playing this since beta and some of the obvious issues there made it through to release too, so there's definitely some testing issues (I mention this as no-one wants to pay money for a released product that clearly isn't finished yet).

Overall, this provided a lot of fun getting my character to 60. However, there were plenty of other people to level up with at the start. It's been out for a couple of months and honestly, the end-game was never great to begin with. The real killer is that since launch they have made several changes to end-game which made things terrible now. It's currently totally unrewarding and going from 900k people to ~250k is a big drop. There's many reasons why this has happened and if you're reading this review wondering whether to play - I'd honestly have to say No these days.

This was one of the better new MMO's out there. Now it's just a pretty showcase for what could have been.

An enjoyable and now cheap game :)
