Y'all ready for the biggest, emptiest world you ever seen with cities that don't differ in meaningful content at all? Well here you go. Fast Travel: the game.

Play Morrowind if you want old ES that holds up.
Play other 90s RPGs if you want an old First Person RPG (Wizardry, Might and Magic, etc.).
Play Wolfenstein 3D if you want to hug walls and spam the use key in a maze.

If you are going to play it, elect to use Daggerfall Unity (and not the GOG cut: it's outdated) to simply be able to play the game without ALL the gamebreaking bugs (my favorite is that the Dodging skill makes enemies harder to hit in Vanilla) AND get some mods to add some flavor to this bland sandwich.

Also: run from the imp and skeleton in the first dungeon.

Character creator is cool though, so there's that.

Update after 81 Hours: Character Creator is neat, but stealth and language skills are fairly worthless (unless you are invisible). You will inevitably build OP spells or just have focus on either melee, ranged or both inevitably- while storming through everything with relative ease. The roleplaying is minimum in the end. Game's enjoyment really depends on your desire to add self-made difficulty modifiers and enjoyment of mazes.
