Not recommending this game is giving me the big sad.....
This game has the potential to be one of the best indie games. Ever.
The story, atmosphere, map design, characters, weapons, and monsters are are phenomenal.

But it really, really, really, really need some more polish!
Where enemies spawn in relation to where the fixed camera is, is TERRIBLE like 50% of the time. You hear an enemy, so you walk forward to advance to the next camera to be able to see them and shoot them, and when it does, surprise....the enemy is right in your face and attacking you.

Using a controller and not being able to have a separate key-bind for the map is INFURIATING.
The tank controls are really cool, but just slightly too clunky.
There are parts of the game where the controller doesn't work and I have to use keyboard and mouse.

Using a knife for melee is miserable.
The parry/counter-attack system is worthless and a pain in the d*ck.
The slow aiming for timing a critical shot is a neat concept, but completely misses the mark.
Inventory management isn't challenging, it's just down right terrible.

There is A LOTTT of jank and bugs that just keep adding up the overall frustration. Some of them so bad you have to reload a save point because it's impossible to progress further.

The difficulty curves are abysmal. Normal is super frustrating, and easy is mostly a snooze cruise.
Granted I wanted to play the game shooting and killing everything. Not the challenge mode style of running past the monsters and rushing to the next door. But even if I did try that, the controls suck enough that I wouldn't be able to pull it off.

And somehow, emulating the old PS1 style of gameplay and camera with it's old/basic graphics, it's terribly unoptimized....

Even for it's problems, this is the best love letter to the OG Resident Evils.
It could easily be a 10/10 with some more updates/patches.

Even then, on sale for $17 it was still worth it!
I'd advice waiting to see if they address some of the glaring issues before buying.

At the very least, I hope they learn from their mistakes, and make another sequel or similar that is *chefs kiss*.

They really need to fix the difficulty curve and balancing.
Normal -> Hard is just ridiculous, there's just not enough time and resources.
Balancing might solve the problem, because right now there's probably like 1 single cookie cutter method to succeed.
Otherwise it's very fun.

Reminds me of an old, classic Warcraft 3 modded custom game!
Very fun. Nice pacing and progression.
Only downside is performance is somehow TERRIBLE for such a simple game.

I've played the previous 3-4 closed play tests and it was a lot of fun.
They've done something with this update that has broken it for me and friends.
We crash on the load screen and haven't been able to play it.

An absolute ton of fun, and I don't normally like these types of games.
Unique and pretty art style.
A TON of depth and content.

Simple, fun, and challenging.
The little bit of base building for upgrades is a nice, too.

Reminds me of Left 4 Dead 2, a bit.
Playing Ogre and smashing/cleaving down mobs is very fun.
Great game for $10 sale, only down side is you have to make some fixes yourself to stop all the stuttering.
Disabling Windows CFG for the games exe, and tweaking some .ini files.
