The vibe starts very Stranger Things, but it takes on its own cool form very quickly! The stories and locations being fun puzzles.

BE AWARE EPILEPTICS : The lab story has some strobing light effects.
(Had to play through a covered eye myself, lucky I'm not set off easily.)

This may have inspired Kung Fury's game. Both are fun games, and this has way more levels, even if the graphics are simplistic.

A mix of pop culture humour (definitely references to Red Dwarf, Star Trek TNG, Alien(s) and The Simpsons for a start - some subtle, some obvious - subtle ones being your Bunks like Lister and Rimmer have and the Sector of space being "Sector 7-G", Homer Simpson's office! More obvious is the H.R. Giger's Alien customers.) and various simulator titles of recent memory.
(Here you'll find a mash up of Gas Station (pumping fuel and ordering it), Supermarket, Goods Management (supplies for the shop), building (items for the location - desks, fridges, shelves, etc.) and more!

For those that know the game, this feels like it's trying to be a modern day sucessor to the legendary gem Startopia (2001), but adding the "on the ground" feel instead of the Sim City "bird's eye view (albeit isometric)", making you the Manager of a Space Station.

This is just the start, so no idea what the final result will be! So far, good fun! Just needs polishing!
(Beaming in the final game'll hopefully have us facing the transporter pads for example.)

All up, worth a try! Especially if you love a good Simulator game!
(I tend to play House Flipper, Powerwashing, Gas Station, Recycling Plant and others myself! More fun and well made than you think for a chill session of gaming.)

A very interesting PORTAL-like puzzle game with Sci-Fi and Philosophical tones. Half puzzler, half First Person Explorer.

If you like/liked PORTAL and The Talos Principle (and their sequels), I'd DEFINITELY recommend this!

Today you may need to sign it in for the beta, and maybe adjust Compatibility on the startopia.exe (High DPI settings) if you're on a 4K screen, but it STILL works!
(Looks great on a 4K screen in 1920x1080!)

A gem in 2001 (had it then), and a gem now! Nearly 1/4 Century later!

If you love sci-fi (Star Trek, Hitchhiker's Guide and Red Dwarf references for a start), this is the tycoon/management sim for you!
(My lack of hours on Steam [currently in 2025] AREN'T reflecting my TENS or HUNDREDS of HOURS on CD-ROM!)

A great continuation of the CMS series (I started by trying CMS 2015).

There's a few new mechanics, ability to mod* (adding famous cars!) and even the ability to tweak the intro videos** and garage banner! Even a radio***!

(* = Mods are in Workshop, you'll need DLC, some free, some not.)
(** = Look for IntroMenu.mp4 and swap it with your own
  • .mp4 to replace the projection in the main menu!)
(*** = The radio is in ~ [X]:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Car Mechanic Simulator 2018\cms2018_Data\StreamingAssets\Music\User ~. You can add
  • .ogg files to add music files!)

DEFINITELY worth a purchase. ESPECIALLY on sale!
(I'm not really a car guy, except for Hollywood cars, TV cars, etc.! You can find a lot of them to work on! So far for me I'm working on a BTTF DMC-12 DeLorean, and looking for Ecto-1/1A, KITT, 1989 Batmobile and the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard! Probably more around!)

But seriously, the humour is the BEST part.

Actually, Kevin's deadpan narration is!

Revisiting the game I haven't seen since 1999, and last time it was the BEST sci-fi horror I'd played, EVER.
(Glued to my PC in curious fear!)

It's spiritual successor, BIOSHOCK, was pretty good, but despite it's age, System Shock 2 STILL beats it.
(Even Portal's GLaDOS is based upon SHODAN to some degree!)

15/10, give it a go, especially if the HD texture mod is still around.
(Nightdive REALLY need to follow up the System Shock remake with SS2!)

AMAZING title!

The only flaws?

Not being GLaDOS/Chell-centric (but doesn't need to be) and not being called either TEMPORTAL (or PORTAL : TEMPORAL)!

The only crap features are lack of turning off motion blur and the LACK OF SAVES.

C'mon guys. Not exeryone is fit as a fiddle to play a whole game or demo in one go.
(Disabled myself. Photophobic/epileptic but able to play games in small amounts.)
