Game is interesting, I believe I got it in the bundle or in a sale. Issue is some bugs and that is needs some sort of validation server that seems to be off (it was in May/June 2020) so there is a risk game will break-up once developer decides to ditch it...

PS: I hope they change the system and game will run without their "master server"

I have downloaded this just to write an review and see myself if this game is really that bad... In short it isn't (I got this game in the Humbe Bundle so it cost me ~0), issue is if they are charging 5 EUR for something worth 90 cents (or even better voluntary donation)...

TLDR; It's not worth the purchase, if you get it for free/30 cents it's a nice alternative to all those free unity games.

Good game with not so good support...

Playing is fun but demanding, developers are trying to push the game forward, however support is not the best and game has issues (lags, bugs etc.)

So this is Empires.... what else to say? Great game and great community, there is a game on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening (European time) if you are interested check it out.... other times... not so much :)

I allways wanted to be able to defend Czechoslovakia in years leading to WW2, this game enabled me to do so (I even conquered Germany)!

Good but hard game...

1. I think it has great graphics
2. I think it has great mechanics where you simply have to craft and create everything froma a few basic resources
3. I think it's great how you can relatively easily train skills to 90/100, and then it becomes more of an challenge to train to 100/100
4. I think it's great you can get different quality of products depending on your skill and quality of underlying materials

on the other hand...
5. Relatively hard for new players, especially if they have no help
6. Realtively hard to start and/or play by your own (however not as bad as rust)

UPDATE:
Now I run my own server with small but very friendly community of players (we are 4-12 pop at once), this was result of an unfriendly (really bad) GM on another server we played. I think LiF:YO suffers greatly when GMs aren't there to help but rather to exploit other players.

I have seen many negative reviews here and to be honest my server runs well also game don't crash for me and it's relatively fast. Another bragging is about flatting and other tasks, its annoying but use F3 to see heights and don't flat if terrain isn't +/- 2 height points (you can but then you spent 4+ hours flatting for a proper castle (and also use iron tools not stone ones)


UPDATE2:
I have changed my recommendation to NO, this is due to fact developers plan not to support/finish the YO version of the game and fully focus on MMO version only. It's sad as the game has a great potential...

Do you know Cossacks: Back to War and other "Cossacks" games? It's simply same mechanics in a new graphics, so prepare to be killed by hundreds of serdiuks (they are even more OP than in original game)...
