This is a storybook game focused around 3 characters that really challenge the player on the views of what could be considered 'alive'. There were a lot of intense moments, and touching moments -- and I highly recommend this game be played by anyone who appreciates the story of games.

The gameplay is basic and is more focused on quicktime events, button mashing, and choices. However, this plays to the game's strength, which is its story. It allows the player to not have to worry about complex mechanics -- you're here to watch the story unfold, not min-max your stats.

Graphics are gorgeous. Life-like in a lot of parts. I did experience a lot of situations where the textures loaded slowly, but it didn't detract from the experience.

The story and its choices, as I mentioned before, is the point of the game, and it makes me want to replay to see the game from different perspectives.

Overall, if someone were to come up to me and ask me to choose one game to prove to them that video games are a form of art, I'd choose this one.

Horror logic puzzle game about dolls. Very fun. Developer is super active and is releasing patches like no tomorrow. He's also active in the discord too.

Game is fun with friends, but it's dead. No one plays it, devs have abandoned it. We encountered quite a few glitches and bugs in-game. A shame, because this was a hit in our friend group.

A fantastic platform/puzzle game. I love cats -- I have three of them -- and this was an absolute pleasure to play through. There are lots of spots in the game that they let you just take your time and enjoy the surroundings, they have areas where you can have the cat lay down and you can have a nice screenshot scene without any UI (the UI is already minimal as it is, but the screenshot areas let you have no UI at all). There are a lot of humor scenes, mostly dealing with cat-related stuff. You get rewarded for exploring and just...being as much of a cat as you can.

I both wish this game was longer, and am glad it's as short as it is. The game took approx 4 - 5 hours to beat. This is well worth the money I paid for it and I wish I could experience it again without the knowledge that I have now.

If you would like to know if the cat survives:

Yes, they do. However, that doesn't mean the ending isn't sad in its own right.

Early Access Review
One of the only games where it feels like you are actually contributing to a war effort with everything you do. You can dedicate yourself to building defenses, or gathering materials for people to use for war. You can be a frontline soldier, or a medic, or even a partisan -- behind enemy lines, disrupting logistics and preventing supplies from getting to the front. The dev team is very active, and there are still new updates coming out all the time. Hell, there was an update today that released two new tanks and four new guns. The lore is fairly interesting. The gunplay is a little clunky at first, but you get used to it.

People complain about toxicity, but I haven't really noticed it. I did have someone steal the truck I had just built, but to be honest, that's not really that bad.

Really excited to see where this game goes in the future. This is already an awesome game in early access, and with the game releasing its 1.0 patch later this year and being a full release, I can't wait to see what they have in store for us.

EDIT: Unfortunately I have to change my review to a "Do Not Recommend". I haven't played the game since April 2021, when the game team told me that neo-nazis have a right to spout their hate and extremism in-game.

So if you're a neo-nazi degenerate, this is the game for you!

This is the type of game where you spend 6+ hours building up your country to the political climate you want, to the economy you want, and preparing yourself for a war, and then watch helplessly as you get steamrolled and naval invaded to all hell.

Despite this, I can't stop playing this game. Every time I play, something unexpected happens in a cool way. I played as New Zealand and watched as Australia had a fascist revolt and ally with Germany. I've played as Armenia (Protip: To play as a country that starts out occupied by another country IE Armenia with Soviet Union or Egypt with the UK, start out as the mother country and then go to Occupied Territories and release it. You'll get an option to "Play As") and had a war with Azerbaijan. I've played as America, started the civil war, won the civil war, went to Germany, had another civil war, then won THAT civil war. I've played as Germany and got invaded by France.

The modding community is ON POINT. For real.

The game isn't without its flaws, though. To this day, with 140 hours to my name in-game, I still have no idea how the ♥♥♥♥ logistics works exactly. I could have a level 10 port with level 10 infrastructure, but I still have 50% attrition for my units.

Paradox's DLC practices, as usual, is garbage at best. I own all of the DLC, but most of it adds nothing to the game aside from more focus trees for random countries. La Resistance, the latest DLC at the time of writing, is pretty much required. Everything else, though, doesn't really add anything significant IIRC. Man the Guns adds a bunch of Naval features, but the Naval play in this game is stupid and I hate it.

Also, WHY NO WASD CAMERA MOVEMENT?! ARGH!!

Additionally, this game has a learning curve. Comparing it to the other Paradox grand strategy games, I'd place this in-between Stellaris and Europa Universalis IV. It's overwhelming at first, but when you get the hang of it, everything is second nature.

I would definitely recommend this game to anybody who likes grand strategy in any sort of way.

TL;DR: Not like DoW1 or DoW2. If you don't care about that, it's good. Otherwise, you'll be disappointed.

This is a confusing review for me. There are things about this game that I quite dislike, and things I really like. I'm writing this from my own personal perspective; I haven't even seen any professional reviews of the game, so I have no idea what people hate or like about it. I have played DoW1 and DoW2, I really enjoy both games, but I came into this one expecting it to be different (Much like DoW2 was much different than DoW1).

For one, this game is beautiful. Really beautiful. The details on some of the scenery and units are mind blowing, and MOST of the units have good animations. Some animations are really...shoddy (I'm looking at you, heavy bolter devastators), but most are really good.

The game sounds...eh. It sounds like they reused DoW2 assets for a few sounds, like bolters. Voices are generally really good...except for the Orks. Which are some of the worst voices I've ever heard. I have no idea what they were thinking, but every Ork has their traditional cockney accent, but it's like in a super high pitched voice, so it sounds just...♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded. Like, not in an Orky way. It's truly, truly unbearable.

The game isn't like the first DoW, if that's what you're looking for, you're going to have a bad time. It's close, but this game is more notably focused on 'elite' units -- basically legendary units. For example, Captain Angelos is an elite unit; as are terminators and Imperial Knights.

This is hit and miss for me. I HATE the idea of having to level up my elite units to unlock their (passive) abilities. Leveling them up to unlock skins is fine and I agree with that, but having to level them up to unlock their abilities for my army pisses me right off. There is no point other than forcing the player to keep playing the game to get their elites to the point where they can actually be contenders.

IN ADDITION, having to buy army abilities with "Skulls", aka "40k Fun Coins"? Get out of here with that BS. I'm not about to grind out battle after battle after battle to get ONE new elite or two new army abilities.

On top of this, some of the elite units are downright useless. They don't do enough damage to be competitive, or their abilities are just pointless. Striking Scorpions are my example. They can literally be outmatched by a basic squad of Orks with Choppas. So you're telling me these Striking Scorpions, some of the most elite and daring melee troops in the Eldar arsenal...can be wiped out by a unit you literally start with? Pointless.

However, I do like elites because they prevent people from spamming OP units. Imperial Knights for example require a good amount of elite points, anywhere from 9 - 10, which is quite a bit and most people won't get them until at the very earliest mid-game (Most of the time end-game).

Next, there aren't anywhere near the amount of units and upgrades as the previous games. I'm fine with this personally, because it puts more focus on actually getting troops to battle than worrying about what needs to go where at what time. But your mileage may vary.

Overall, the game IS good, but if you're a huge fan of traditional RTSs or the previous DoW's, I'd say skip it until it's like $20 - $30.

Action-packed, third-person MMORPG. Unique combat system, and best of all, it's free.
