They've come a long way from release. If you dropped off like we did, you should give it another chance. There's talents, there's weapon customization, and there's some mission variety!

Great fun with a group. The new equipment system has added some much needed choices to runs. But I still think they need a ban mechanic so you can stop things you don't want to take from reappearing.

Just finished the playthrough and I'm incredibly pleased. This feels like the game I'm going to refer to five years from now when someone's excited about a new big budget game coming out that's been developed by the creator of Mecha Knights, "Oh yeah, I played the indie game this is the spiritual successor to."

The people who are talking about boring repetitive shooting didn't get past the first few missions. The game adds a lot of variety, and it's not just mindless blasting, as the difficulty continues to ramp up and you have to start managing a lot of things (ammo, cooldown, weapon heat, supply drops, repair modules, energy usage, etc.) all while simultaneously prioritizing targets based on threat level and keeping yourself moving effectively to avoid incoming fire. It's a lot of fun!

Yeah there's some rough bits, but they give it charm. Even the cheesy voice acting is great in its own way. The execution isn't always perfect, but the creator's heart is definitely in the right place.

If you like EDF, Armored Core, MuvLuv, Blue Gender, or even Attack on Titan I think this is worth checking out. Especially on sale!

Good but short Lovecraftian thriller/horror. Relatively easy. Still fun. Buy it on sale. $25.00 is definitely too much for 7-8 hours and really no replayability.

Such a short, simple game but with so much style and obvious love put into it. It's a cultural phenomenon. Overnight everything became a reference to it. Even if you're completely unfamiliar, you've probably seen some art or meme that was referencing something from Helltaker this year. Don't let the seemingly cliched premise fool you: there's a lot more here than you see from the surface. Especially for a free game!

The animation in this game is stunning. Controls are responsive and tight. The fairy system seems compelling. Only had about 30 minutes to play so far, but already really loving it.

If you intend to play this game primarily multiplayer (as in, you want to play the storyline missions with a partner), don't bother. Trying to join either person's game results in an error that they haven't completed the mission yet (so helpful). Actually doing it requires a goofy workaround that honestly seems more like a bug than an intentional method to enable multiplayer.

Apparently once you're done all the storyline missions, multiplayer is fine. But I bought two copies of this to play with my wife, and we assumed the fact that multiplayer wasn't working for us in story missions was because we weren't done w/ the tutorial section yet, not that it was designed that way on purpose. By the time we realized multiplayer didn't actually work right we'd already gone an hour past the refund period.

Don't make our mistake.

Buddy threw satchel charge on me when I was getting swarmed right outside the escape pod door, detonated it. Pod left what was left of me behind. Would be devoured by bugs alone and unloved on a space rock again. 10/10

It's like adult Minecraft. Or fantasy Rust. If you've got some friends, it's a lot of fun to set up a private server and conquer the world together. Also there's a really great selection of mods.
