I got mixed feelings about this game.

The story is like any other Tomb Raider, which is fine, but nothing dramatic or even captivating.
The game itself feels kinda off. Maybe my expectations are too high. But if I'd payed full price I'd be pissed.
The game is kinda old now too, so no hard feelings.

Most annoying part are the climbing sections in my opinion. It's like they've seen how bad camera placement and directional inputs could work together in Assassins Creed 2 and decided "Yeah, nice Ubisoft, we can do that too".
It just sucks, to do a section several times over, because the camera placement is off and the corresponding key inputs don't do what they are supposed to. This and the fact, that you may miss a ledge or so by an inch instead of hanging on to it and eventually resulting in a suicide, is just bad design.

Next thing on the list is the overall brightness. I have no fancy HDR display, just a regular IPS display. But apparently the game is so dark, that I had to turn off shadows to see anything (putting the brightness to the max didn't do much either before that). I've played so many games and never had an issue, but apparently Square Enix thought it's a good idea to make the game so dark I felt like I've never had eye laser surgery...

Some parts like the underwater sections didn't do much for me either. Felt more like a nuisance than anything else. You can't embrace the beauty of the level design, since your lungs are gone before you catch a glimpse and need to hide from potential threats as well. So why even add that?

Same goes for the "open-world" parts. They don't do anything for me. Just stick to proven game and level design, don't overthink everything and keep it simple. But I personnally don't need villages filled with NPCs and loot that do absolutely nothing for me or the story. Just put the stuff in the levels.

If there wouldn't be so many flaws gameplay-wise it'd be easier to enjoy in my opinion. But a game that solely resolves around exploring and shooting "bad guys" is kinda bad, if the exploring part is suppressed by weird camera placements and stupid climbing mechanics. Same goes for the auto-aim with mouse and keyboard (yeah right, mouse and keyboard no controller). I usually aim for the head. But if you aim onto an enemy it locks onto the torso automatically for quite some time (even if you try to move the crosshair to the head it won't for a couple seconds). The only workaround seems to be aiming beforehand and to remain in ADS.

Yeah, maybe it's just retrospective talking out of me, since I grew up with the older Tomb Raider games, which weren't perfect, since they had their flaws aswell. But they felt better (?).

And one should think, that games may profit from past flaws (well let's see how well that went for a couple of big studios...)

Eventually I wouldn't go for the game if it isn't sold for a really cheap price.

There is an operator in a wheelchair rolling through my screen... WTF?!
What's next? Helen Keller being a new sniper operator?

Also the wheelchair guy is a man/woman-thing, definitely mandatory in a shooter.
Can't wait for the first real spec-ops unit to announce their disability squad.

Game is good though, despite the woke Ubisoft-like stuff.

Whoever came up with the training challenges and its timings is either a sadist, an imbecile or never heard of testing.
How is it possible that this isn't fixed after 8 years of existing?
Fortunately enough I made it after I wished for Krilin and his bald ass to be cremated.
I couldn't stand another round of him blabbering about getting stuff for 18 and having no time etc. If his stupid ass wouldn't dodge every 2nd combo, I'd finished that crap within five minutes. But it's either him dodging a combo, the ridiculous timing you have to hit or the game not taking the correct input, which causes the combo to fail. Even if you manage to hit everything, it happens to be nullified, since you were "too slow" to hit the ultimate blast. It doesn't even matter if you hit him anyway.
No wonder only five percent of all players ever finished this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. AND it's not because people don't manage to find this side quest, it's because this crap has never been tested nor fixed since its release.
But the best part is, you'll probably never use these combos in-game, since they don't work 99% of the time you try to do that. Incredible...

Despite that, the game is cool and stuff. Just like it's predecessor.
But thanks for making me hate this damn midget Krillin and his non-existing hair.

I still give a thumbs down, since the responsible developers are either lazy bastards or simply don't care.

I've played the previous titles on PlayStation ages ago. So I definitely know how a Uncharted games turn out at the end.
But I might be "too old for that ♥♥♥♥". Seriously, why does every antagonist in this series seems to have shares in explosive manufacturing companies?
I swear to god, if I have to witness another Abdul going all ISIS on an ancient rune with his communist RPG I might throw my mouse and keyboard out of the window.
I mean sure, Nathan Drake has his fair share of destroying ancient civilizations throughout the series, but the antagonists in this instalment seem to have room temperature IQ: "Oh there is an ancient rune, instead of just looking for an entrance, let's tear the whole place apart".
Smart buddy, real smart... No wonder he is dependant on his inheritance.

But despite the lack of IQ from certain individuals in this game, it's good looking, runs smoothly (even on old hardware) compared to other console ports (but I got to admit, that I had crashes here and there) and it is like every other Uncharted game especially in terms of dialog and story telling (which is good btw). The climbing parts get repetitive though and so on, but yeah... it's Uncharted.

Combat is really boring, but like I said, I might be too old for that stuff and seem to enjoy the exploring more than everything else.

All in all I liked it and it's a good game.
Feel free to buy.

Game would be great if there weren't any stupid microtransactions. Can't even play the ♥♥♥♥ offline and if you dare to create 5 different chars in a short amount of time for MyCareer you're receiving a 24h ban for the mode. ♥♥♥♥ off 2K. You ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up bigtime. I don't wanna play with random ass cheating losers online. I want to play the damn game on my own and it would be tremendous to enter the league without the skill set of Ben Simmons who couldn't shoot a FT if his live depended on it. I felt like a 60-year old trying to get to the toilet on his own after his third apoplexy.

The mechanics and presentation are quite nice. The music is okay in my opinion. There is a bunch of good songs mixed with viral trash, but yeah... that's how it is nowadays.
The PA announcers are a great addition, the commentary is.... not to my liking. I prefer Kevin Harlan (guess that says enough).

Eventually I really would like to smash the producers head repeatedly on something solid until you can see the inner parts squeezing out. Money can't buy you the treatment necessary for such an "incident". It's even worse than EA and that means a lot. Imagine buying the game for 60 bucks... such poor souls.

"Another settlement needs our help"... for **** sake. The only one around there who needs help is this old fashioned black guy who can't stop blabbering the same sentence over and over again. What is wrong with that guy? Did he had too much jet or what? Back in the old days we were jailing or shooting people with mental conditions.

Don't start converting a RPG series into a FPS if you can't get it done in a proper way.

By the way the construction mode is kinda buggy.

Early Access Review
I tried to build my own camp after surviving a plane crash and ended up killing some of the "indigenous" people who did greet me in their "own" way and finally started to feast on them. They seem to be a little bit retarded as they do not understand, that attacking me is just the first step to end up on a silver platter. The survival guide says that eating people isn't good for my mental condition. But who really cares? As long as the prey comes to me I don't give a damn thing about it. I'm still wondering what happened to the other passengers.

Thumbs up for the cannibal simulator.
