Early Access Review
I played this game with a couple of friends expecting it to be a sloppy asset flip, and we were proven sooo wrong.

Gameplay - I was expecting more alien isolation where you hide from monsters and occasionally shoot at them, but it's not really like that, and that's not a bad thing at all. The gameplay loop is great so far, go to place, do objective, get out. I am not a big fan of extraction shooters but the polish of every single thing in this game just makes it a delightful experience to play.

I was a bit bummed out that there aren't more maps, but I understand why. It is because the devs working on this game actually pay attention and are delivering a great experience, and don't want to provide maps just so there's maps.

The shooting feels great, the animations are great, the aliens are great! 9/10 for gameplay, The only thing they could improve is add more aliens and maps (which the devs are already doing!)

Graphics and vibe - It's all there, the atmosphere and overall vibe of the game is crazy good. It reminds me a lot of Elite Dangerous mixed with Alien Isolation and it just works. The game is super well optimized and works flawlessly without any issues, while looking incredible. The attention to detail in the environments is also great, every single thing placed in the world has a purpose, like pipes leading from the engine core to the engine itself, things like that that just make the world feel like an actual place and not just a map in the game. The music is great, sound design is also great.

There are so many little things that me and my friends were just like "Wow I really didn't expect that", like instead of a boring loading screen you actually sit in your shuttle, fly to the map, and fly away after, and it's all just so seamless.

The alien designs are super creepy and you never know when they are gonna pop out to eat your face (or drill your head)

Issues - The only issue we had was the voice chat which didn't work properly I'm guessing. It was high pitched, and the volume was sooo low we couldn't hear each other. But the devs are working on that AFAIK.

Improvements - I wish there was more shuttle customization, like upgrade tiers for example that would add more lights or some furniture idk. More maps and aliens would be nice as well. Other than that I wouldn't even know what to improve, it's already such a good game!

Great game 9/10 - We played for 3 hours when we got the game, and don't plan on stopping anytime soon!

This might be one of the worst games I've ever played. How the hell do you release a game without an audio slider, without control mapping, and without party creation IN A PARTY RACING GAME. If it had those things it still wouldn't be worth it as it's just a bare bones "game" that is not worth 10 cents, let alone the full price or discounted price. Do not buy it unless they add those things, if and when they add them you can buy the game on sale

This game delivered on every single expectation I had, and more.

I was hoping it is similar to mafia 1 and 2, and it is just that but set in Italy. The attention to detail, characters, map design, interior design, story, graphics, music, everything is just perfect. I am surprised the game runs as good as it does considering how detailed and beautiful it is. It reminded me a lot of Mafia 2 with the slower pacing, which is great as Mafia Definitive Edition felt a bit too fast.

I don't remember the last time I've felt this immersed in a game. It's just beautiful. You can tell the developers put a lot of soul into making the game, as it is pouring out of every corner of the game. The world is so beautiful I can basically smell the vineyards.

Just like Mafia 1 and 2 this is not meant to be an open world game, it has an open world, but it's there to make it more grounded and not just be a bunch of levels. That works in my opinion, I don't need 150 radio towers to climb, 500 things to collect and camps to eliberate in a Mafia game. It just felt nice driving and riding around the world to the next mission at my own pace, stopping at places I found interesting.

The driving and shooting feels incredible too, seeing Enzo shift gears from 1 to N, from N to 2 and so on just looks so nice. I think the shooting in this game feels the best out of any Mafia game so far. There is a real feeling weight and recoil when shooting the guns. The melee combat felt really fresh too as we haven't seen anything like that in a Mafia game so far, and it feels right for the time period. The game does feel more linear than previous games though.

The music is really fitting and memorable too, it just adds to the experience so much.

The attention to detail to the characters is insane, even the most random NPC's look so real that I took like 100 screenshots just so I can look at them and wonder how they managed to make them look that good.

Performance is a thing I see a lot of people have trouble with, but personally the game ran on High, with DLSS on Quality/Balanced perfectly. I don't need 500 FPS in a game like this, you don't need to hit trickshots and pixel peek. Even lowering the resolution helps a lot and the game looked basically the same.

People will complain about anything even when a game is good . The no swimming thing is really not a big deal, you can't swim in Mafia Definitive Edition, or Mafia 2 either , and I never saw people complaining about that. You don't hate on a 4X strategy game for not having a cooking minigame in it, do you?

In conclusion if you like any of the previous Mafia games, especially DE and 2, you will love this game. It does everything those games did good, and does it just as good, if not better in some areas. It's an incredible game.

EDIT: The Free Ride update added a lot of cool stuff to the free roam mode and it just made the game so much better to play after completing the main story

Early Access Review
Considering the game is still in early access I am willing to give it a fair shot. It has some mechanics that give it an edge over the first game. The only thing missing right now is maps and the survival gamemode. The current maps are great, but there is only 4 so far.

There are bugs, which I assume will be fixed in the future. The team seems to be actively working on the game, adding maps, weapons and quality of life changes.

I really like the game, I've played 13.9 hours over just a few days, I've been addicted to it.

If you enjoyed the objective mode of the original game, get this game on discount.

Great game overall. Has flaws obviously, but for a game made by a pretty unknown team, it is very worth the money. A friend and me sunk 21 hours in just a few days without even realizing how much time actually passed. Have had some stutters and fps drops every now and then but the overall game makes up for it. The base building is just great, although you unlock some basic things pretty late.

Would highly recommend this game if you have a lot of free time. In general it's an incredible experience that is full to the brim with atmosphere, and it managed to scare me more than any recent game I can think of. Just hearing a twig snap close to me made me terrified, especially if playing on harder difficulty where you lose everything if you die. The panic you feel when having to leave the zone is exhilarating. Absolutely recommend this to any fan of the Stalker games, The Long Drive, and it even reminded me a lot of Euro Truck Simulator. Must play game for at least the beginning part.

Edit: The devs are actively updating the game, fixing issues and improving things overall!
