Incredible game. Totally up to the standards of the Souls games.
The bestiary is absolutely insane. I don't think any of the souls game has such a wide variety of mobs and bosses.
Highly recommended if you like this genre!
GOTY 2024 without hesitation

An incredible remake of one of my favorite games back in the days.
Capcom is setting a crazy standard for remakes!

If you've played the original game, I suggest to play it on hardcore. It's hard at the beginning but when you get used to it, it's fun and rewarding.

I mean, look at my game time...

I take it that it's not for everyone but god this game is insane, it has everything.
The only downside is that I wonder if I'll ever play another game with that much depth in the future.

As a big fan of Spelunky, I've been waiting for this game for years, even before it was officially announced, and so far I can say this does not disappoint!
First thing first, the game looks awesome, the new sprites are really crisp and the stages are really pleasant to the eye.
Also for me the game runs at 144fps which makes it even more enjoyable.
The gameplay and game mechanics are really similar to the 1st opus with a lot of new stuff. I only have around 4 hours of gametime so far so I won't dwell on this, I might edit my comment later.
About the difficulty, the game so far seems more difficult that the 1st one. I mean right at stage 1-1 the hostility of the environment is off the charts, with many enemies dealing 2 damages and needing more than a stomp to go down. I was afraid that after beating King Yama several times on the first game, I would maybe progress too smoothly in this one (which would ruin the fun tbh), but so far it seems it won't be the case.
Honestly so far I'm delighted with how the game turned out! A huge congrats to Derek and the team for this amazing work.

Used to get bodied by bosses in 4th and 5th floors until I found a Rainbow Chest. Now I run the gungeon !

Seriously, this game is epic. Once you get into it and begin to know the guns and items, it becomes so addictive. It's only 15 bucks but you can play for a hundred of hours to unlock everything. I strongly recommand it to rogue like lovers !
Don't let the apparent difficulty prevents you from playing it, it's only a matter of training and learning the game mechanics.

Hats off to the devs, this game is world class !

Rogue-like at it's best !
