Best shooter I have ever played.

This game has a lot of pros and cons. Overall I enjoy it, but the cons might make it unenjoyable for some.

CONS:

Almost everything in the game, campaigns, special titles, even guns, are time-gated. Oh you started playing today instead of 2 years ago? Nope, can't get that! Everything that was in the game at launch is gone.

The game is pay-to-win. Not in the typical mobile-game way, but unless you have the latest expansion and season pass, you are probably missing out on the best PvP gun / character model.

PvP is extremely unbalanced. It's more of a PvE game at heart. Bungie makes little to no attempt to balance PvP. It will forever have certain guns/abilities be way too powerful.

To actually play the game, costs 70-80 bucks a year, depending on how expensive the deluxe edition is. Every year, they release an "expansion", which is the main story for that year. They also have smaller stories every 3 months, called "seasons". To truly experience the game, you have to buy the deluxe edition which comes with the 4 season passes for that year. The Free-To-Play tag is nothing more than marketing, and at best a demo.

PROS:

The general game-play is really fun, and often very unique. There are many abilities in the game, and you can customize a lot of perks with what armor you use. The guns feel snappy, and also have some bullet magnetism, which I actually think improves the game.

The story is amazing, and it's getting better. Recently, Bungie made a shift where every season has a storyline, instead of just the yearly expansion. It's much more engaging.

Destiny Raids (endgame puzzle PvE) are a One-of-a-Kind experience. Especially if you go in "blind" as a group.

Sort of like a cross between minecraft and city building games, but with real characters! I would say its the most fun game of its style.

Actually good platforming. This is leagues beyond Mario.

This is one of the most mind-bending puzzle games. The game is built around figuring out the rules yourself. I love that style.

This is the closest video game in existence to actually being like a sport. It feels amazing. There is real progression of skill over time in this game.

I could never play any other game for 5,000 hours (most of my games were on ps4). This is the kind of competitive game where people who previously never played any competitive video games (like shooters) could actually play, like it, and become skilled at it. It's extremely unique, there will never be another game like it.
