Glade to see story back in men of war after the assault squad series, co-op is a blast and the feeling of getting the tide to turn because of one man or tank being placed right is amazing. Some of the changes are for the best like fixes in the way engineers work, and improved buildings. I miss some of the more arcade like action from the old Soldiers Heroes of WW2 game and hope more custom options come to multiplayer games in the future to allow more sandbox like game play.

Brought this game out at a family reunion, was asked to leave. 10/10 would do again.

The only game you need in your library.

Love the concept, but I find myself fighting the controls more then playing the game. Having to turn the base of your mech/tank and then move forward seems just turns a fun game into a fight with the controls. The only reason it seems to be there is to make one or two vehicles a pain in the a** to drive. A few have a turret that can't turn 360, so you need to turn the base to reach anyone behind you. The AI isn't smart enough to use this against you though, so it seems to be an annoyance more than a feature. I've died more times because the AI swarmed me and I couldn't see which way the tiny arrow was facing, then anything. If they could add a feature to turn on/off auto rotation of your base the controls wouldn't be such a mess, or multiplayer so there would be someone to fight that might actually know how to take advantage of your restricted movement.

There might be some nastalgia playing into my review of this game. It's recalls my favorite time in gaming, when titles like Terminal Velocity and Descent Dominated PC gaming. The tourtorial is a bit lacking so taking some time learning the controls from the options menu first will go a long way, the instant action option is a nice touch and multiplayer (with some system tweaking) is workable and entertaining at lans.

To address the Negative reviews:

There seems to be a trend of people assuming that this new wave of old games getting re-released on steam are similar to 'remakes' available on consoles. These are more like diving in the bargin bin at a local retailer. They aren't repolished with new fixes for modern machines, most will require a few extra steps to get running and this should be expected if you are buying anything before 2009. This one is no exception, luckily there aren't as many issues as with some other titles. I was able to get it up and running by right clicking on the gamelauncher.bat in the install folder and running as administrator. After running it once this way it launches fine from steam. Just so you don't think I have some odd setup that might be old enough to be compatible:
