Rating + Tips at the end

I absolutely adore Book of Travels so far. It's been my go-to for a few weeks now, I play almost every night around the same time, which brings me to the first point; In game time. In game time is not explained to you, just like the rest of the game- you have to learn as you play. Time however is dependant on your timezone, it will be dawn/day/dusk/night accordingly- this is important as a lot of features in the game are reliant on the time. Depending on which region you join, you'll have a selection of servers to choose from however they'll all be around the same time as you anyway. I bring this up first because i think it should be changed as it takes out key events for some players who can't play at certain times and other obvious reasons. The day is also in accordance to what day it is in your timezone, which is also vital for the game !

Book of Travels is most likely the most atmospheric game I've ever played. The art style is gorgeous, the soundtrack is phenomenal, the ambience is breathtaking- i could be sitting here all day complimenting the art of this game in all its forms. As an adventure game its unlike any i've played before other than Minecraft, and that sounds dumb i know, but in Book of Travels you start with nothing, you can't even read the signs around you- blank slate. As you explore though, you learn skills, you learn about people, you form connections with characters without saying a word. There's no chat options for you, there's no in-game chat, you simply listen to characters, learn about the Braided Shore, and explore. The quests are easy and complex at the same time, you can't take any notes in game [eg; there are no quest icons, notepads etc] so have a pen and paper out to take notes of any rumours, locations, prices anything you need! I personally made myself a notion page which i have open on my second monitor.

While the story is far from done, and while i'm far from completing the story that has been released, Book of Travels has easily become a favourite of mine and i highly recommend it.

Tips for beginners:

- interact with EVERYTHING. Book of Travels is a world that opens up to you only when you pry it open. Take your time, spend it picking flowers or shopping at teahouses, you'll learn a lot more than you think you will

- Keep a notebook on your desk to right down any information you may need. there is not in game "quest" tabs, there is not information saved so you have to write it yourself!

- while listed as an MMO its player base is remarkably small at the moment. i've only bumped into three people so far [52hrs]

- the discord server and the wiki page are wonderfully helpful !!

such an adorable game with brilliant graphics, lovely music & amazing characters. Found it on a whim and have been playing it basically non-stop.

You play as Misty, a little Izakaya owner, and help her create her dream restaurant! The story is funny, light-hearted and so very charming. Every character is unique and has their own likes and dislikes that you cater towards, the time crunch for operating hours doesn't feel stressful yet keeps you bouncing from order-to-order through the night. During the day you run around collecting ingredients and befriending your customers as well as expanding your area, and completing little tasks around the world to help out local youkai

And for the price? i'd easily pay at least $20 bucks for this game, so for it to be $8.50 [$5.95 on sale when i got it] quit readin' the reviews and buy it !! it's worth it, trust me. The only real "issue" with the game is that the translation gets a bit choppy here and there, but it doesn't impact your playthrough at all, and its only on a few lines- if anything; it makes it better haha!

The amount of achievements are also a massive bonus for any fellow achievement hunters!!

Only thing i'd like is more steam point shop items !! I'd love a Wriggle avatar or emoji set for my profile

gifted to me by a stranger on the internet, The Red Strings Club has been one of my favourite games to replay.

beautiful pixel art, calming soundtrack, terrifyingly realistic "future" that will send you spiraling for weeks questioning your rights as a human and the very morale you live by, pretty character designs- its a great game.

Pros:
- beautiful soundtrack and art
- great characters
- complex storyline that can be easily followed along [on the replay, at least]
- fantastic world building
- community hub for this game is amazing

Cons:
- Pixel variation in text can be a bit difficult to read, especially in the very long paragraphs
- one mixup and you'll have to restart the whole storyline to get an achievement [ not really a con, i'm just salty ]

10/10 still playing again. It doesnt take all that long to complete, 6 hours and a bit if you're a bit slow like me, plus achievements and steam point items? 10/10 all the way

OK/NORMAL is Neon Genesis Evangelion as a visual novel, as i wouldn't say its much of a game.

Its a very simple WASD controlled game, though the drift is so irritating it makes the controls a pain in the a/ss, about navigating some sort of trippy plane with a little smiley cloud that calls you pathetic :] You go through each level to collect food, water and medication as your character slowly becomes bloodied and negative, saying that it would be better to give, how much they hate their life etc

its a very...interesting concept though the game itself is extremely predictable, the most challenging part is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ controls because they're just so janky. Achievements are simple and easy to get, design is good but i'd love a setting that turns the CRT effect off/at least down a bit, i can barely see which way my character is facing.

Pros:
- unique idea
- easy
- some pretty good music on a couple levels
- easy achievements

Cons:
- pushing my "these controls suck" agenda, please the drift is so annoying
- ow my eyes
- not really a story

Overall:
Look, for, like, 75 cents its fine, i'm happy with it, its an interesting game with loads of room for imagination...a bit too much room imo, i don't think there's any "hidden meaning" behind this game for the player to really dissect, i think its just a general feeling thrown into some code. Not bad, and good way to burn about an hour achievement hunting

When i first got it? unplayable. so much was happening, oh my god it's so bright.
Now? i play every day. this game is ruining my life, there's some banger songs and also some not banger songs but it doesn't matter because the dopamine i'm getting is sky-high

Get it if you want a game you can play as a pass time or to impress friends, 10/10

Pros:
+ banger backgrounds for your steam profile
+ trading cards
+ cute emojis
+ good selection of songs without purchasing the DLC
+ easy to learn, hard to master mechanics
+ easy leveling up system

Cons:
- can take time to get used to the colour pallete
- Very sus about character ages
- achievements in-game but NOT on steam??? [EDIT: THEY'RE FINALLY HERE BABY!!]

note: i don't have the DLC yet, however, i've seen that it causes bugs [acc loss/game fail etc] so watch out on spending that extra 30 bucks until it gets fixed!

cannot believe i waited this long to review!

Coffee Talk is probably my favourite game at the moment. It's a little slow paced but its all worth it for the story, characters and drinks.

Its a simple visual-novel type game where you're a mysterious barista listening in to the hearts of characters who come in for a coffee, or just to relax. There isn't much for you to do aside from sitting back and listening to great music while reading stories- as well as partaking in a few coffee-making mini games/cut scenes!

Easy to play, you don't really have to focus too much and you can just jump back if you need to jog your memory on the story. The characters are easy to learn and even easier to love, and just in-case you needed more info on them, there's a app on your in-game phone that has what you've learnt.

My 2 favourite things about Coffee Talk would be the fact that instead of choosing how to respond to a question, situation, whatever- the story is dependent on the drinks you serve. This will impact your play through, meaning you have to play it at least twice! the other thing i love is the challenge mode- i played that mode for hours trying to get the last achievement in the game and it felt so rewarding. I play it just for fun whenever i don't want to focus on another replay- plus its always fun to beat your last high score.

Pros:
> Fantastic music
> Amazing art
> Great story
> Challenge and Endless modes
> Easy achievements [most of them]
> Even with the great graphics, the game could run on a toaster and still look great

Cons:
> Text is slow, even when sped up, which can get frustrating in replays
> relating to last point, its a kinda long play-through, so you do need to set time aside if you wanna know the story

all in all though? i've replayed this game 4 or 5 times and have it installed on my beat up old school laptop to play challenge mode whenever i'm bored, its easy, its fun and it was such a great find 20/10 can't wait for the new episode !
