Ah yes, another smelly smash and dash. If you've played Wario Land 4 or pizza Tower before you know what you're getting yourself into. If you don't, then the next closest thing would be 2d sonic, but varied speed, more collecting, longer levels with less in-level routes, better camera and more fighting all of which barley kills momentum unlike it does in 2d sonic. So I guess It's just 2d sonic but better, like Spark the Electric Jester.

I got it because it was suggested over No I'm not Human and apparently it's one of the better deduction games. While I do like visual novels this doesn't have much going on outside of arguing around the table and even then during those discussions there's not any flavor during the arguments and it gets repetitive it's just different roles same dialogue every time rarely with an event after that. All characters besides Shigemichi are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insufferable too, like just put me cryo after all the gnoshia are gone.

Somehow I haven't had any performance issues till it came to that wyverns milk hole place, then I needed to use FSR. But that's beside the point as to why this is a negative review. This MH entry feels like it has more of the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ smooth brained ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that designed the level layout and difficulty for Rise but the level layouts are even simpler and difficulty is even dumber. Not just smaller health pools but the wound mechanic makes it so monsters hardly ever have the chance to fight back from the stagger on top of the massive bonus damage that comes with breaking a wound. There's barley any interactivity and complexity with the enviroments compared to World. Offsets and focus attacks don't seem cool or rewarding when all the monsters are just paper lions. The Palico is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ invincible now too, acts independently using all its tools from World and gives almost spontaneous max heals. I never cared for the story in MH games aside from the monster introduction cutscenes and they were skippable, but this has unskippable walking scenes that go on for way too long. Also there's no visual variety with Alpha and Beta sets, instead they opted for drag undoubtedly because of that SBI ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. All this has going for it are nostalgia monsters which I do agree are better than many of the new monsters they've made the past years
And why does Gravios have the stock bear roar now? Why would you do that to him? Did Basarios take it?

Came for the rogue deckbuilder, stayed for the story. I can't say much the story other than it being really good without spoiling any of it so go into it blind.
I wish there was an option to replay some scenes.

This clearly got a remake because of Anzu's route alone, all the other ones (besides Izumi's, I guess) pale in comparison. Thanks to her my complex has relapsed.

I wouldn't want to spoil a single scene in this VN, every moment that didn't have kuon (aside from 2 scenes) or those shotas was amazing. Kuon was consitent in Deception but here she pinballs from many personalities and her IQ was nerfed. Anyways "A Mother's Embrace" is in my top 5 or 3 scenes of all time.
As for gameplay, a tad bit more strategy can be used in battles than in Deception and some things in the trials really should have been included in the tutorials.
