Update: Sony has decided not to go ahead with the requirement of linking a PSN account which was the reason for my negative review. I would now say I recommend this game as it is an absolute blast to play and the developers work hard to keep it entertaining.

Requiring making an external account for a game is not new but has always been annoying to say the least. What is egregious about this move by Sony is requiring making a PSN account well after the game has released and sold extremely well. This change makes players who don't want to make an account or can't make one do to location (or any other reason) unable to play a game they paid for and unable to return it since they are outside the play time window. Online service games have had this looming fear over them that at any time the servers could be shut down leaving paying customer out to dry and now we have an even more arbitrary fear to add to it.

I hope that Sony walks this change back and never tries to pull something like this again. The more likely option is they ignore the community by letting the change continue and are forced to revert it by other means such as class action lawsuit, some government regulator stepping in, or mass returns if permitted by Valve.

Loved it to death.
