This game is the closest you will get to Sony's wonderful Astro-Bot on PC. I am about halfway through the game at the point of this review. When you first start the game, the levels seem very hard.. but after getting used to moving the camera around and the game play mechanics, it got much easier for me. But I will say the game seems difficult at first, gets easier, and then the play difficulty ramps up pretty quick.

But the game itself is well designed, fun, and has everything from visuals to music to make it a AAA game. If you enjoyed Mario Brothers, Sonic, or any platform game.. you will love Max Mustard. The whole, spend coins to increase your skills and abilities, mechanic is great to get a person to replay earlier levels.

My only gripes about the game, is that unlike Astro-Bot, it never seems to just give you areas where it is 100% fun with no dangers. It does have levels where you basically have unlimited re-tries (that I love), but no areas (so far) that you get to try out your newly obtained skills and get to go wild without death lurking near.

Overall, I give the game 10/10 for being a truly great platform game inside VR. The developer knows how to make a great game, and they made an amazing one here. I'd played most, if not all, of the VR platform games, and so far this one is my favorite.

A horrible HD remake of a classic to be AVOIDED at all cost. I am a huge fan of the Toy Soldiers franchise and will likely still play this game to the end because of that.. but.. it has glaring, stupid, game breaking, issues along with removed features of the Toy Soldiers franchise that make this game just the biggest pile of dog manure.

Are you hurting the enemy? I don't know.. they often don't even show damage bars. So you can sit in a tank at point blank range shooting at a turret right in front of you.. and be just wasting your time. Bombing from a plane? Well, we removed the top down bomber sight.. why? I dunno.. because people enjoyed it I guess. Did you like the special actions you got when shooting starred enemies in the old game? Yeah.. well they removed that as that was fun as well and this game can't be fun.

As a fan of the Toy Soldiers Franchise.. I was thrilled when I saw this was available (somehow I missed it's release). But now I wish I never knew this final chapter of a storied franchise existed. What a let down. AVOID and get TOY SOLDIERS COMPLETE instead. TSC is more polished, fun, and actually playable.

This is my all time favorite Halloween VR experience and has become a tradition in my house around this time of year. I cannot recommend this enough. I am a HUGE fan of Haunted House rides and that is basically what this is.. just turned up to 11. I don't recommend it for little kids (though the middle ride might be ok).. but for teenagers and up.. hell yeah! There are other scary games, haunted houses, etc in VR... but the part of being in a coffin/cart/etc.. and on a slow Haunted House type ride aspect of this one is what really makes it enjoyable to me and super easy to put people into it. And because they are sitting down, I don't fear them running into walls, etc.. I just get it set up, and then I have them sit down and I can easily put people through it with little interaction or fear of them getting stuck or confused. And the 3 rides each last pretty long. So I find it the perfect Halloween party experience.

Ivanovich Games has done it again! While not their best VR game (Operation Warcade is an unrivaled masterpiece), this game 1976 - Back to Midway is still an exceptional game. It's basically part modernized arcade game 1942 and part first/third person vr shooter in game parts called Immersion Zones. These immersion zones are ok, but are by far the weakest part of the game. But they do serve well as a break time for the arcade part and offer something special for VR players. The game also includes ways to spend coins obtained in the game to buy things that make your plane more powerful, etc. This is a nice touch.. Overall, like any Ivanovich game, you can tell a lot of care was taken to make the game as good as it could be. There are tons of great in game artwork and voice overs that explains what your doing, your VR sitting area is well designed to make you feel like you are "there" in VR. Even the wonderful ending, caters to this being a VR game. It's a well done game and continues to make me an Ivanovich games fan. And if your up to more action, there is a sequel game that ups the action even more!

One great tower defense game. Featuring a great concept, the game puts you on the floor fighting to get plastic toy soldiers into a crack that is the enemies lair. Fighting against you, are various types of bugs, spiders, etc. The game starts simple and then expands with harder enemies, better enemy tactics, etc.. but avoids the main problem I have with these types of games, becoming too hard before the end to the point I just give up. This did not ever do that. It stayed relatively simple throughout.. but was very enjoyable. Overall, it is a fun short VR tower defense game and one I really enjoyed. I suggest trying it out next time it is on sale, since it only cost a few bucks.

The best thing, it's even better than sliced bread. I've been using OVR Advanced Settings since the earliest days of VR and honestly, I would have gave up on VR long ago if not for it. OVR fixes the most annoying and consistent VR issues. Sitting down outside your playspace and hate seeing walls? Turn them off. Are you sitting down and in the game world facing the way? Rotate the play space. OVR can be as powerful or as simple as you want it to be. I honestly use it mainly to turn off the chaperone when sitting and to rotate and move my play space for those pesky games where it wants me to face another direction. But it has MANY MANY more features. If you use a VR headset... you need OVR. It is that simple. It is the tools every VR headset should have come with, but didn't.

There are probably 8 million reviews and youtube videos of Half Life Alyx stating how awesome it is.. so I won't regurgitate that. Instead, let me tell you why I love HLA as a person who never played a Half Life Game and who hates scary games.
First of all, let's get the scary part over with. HLA is scary at time. But for VR scary games, it is a light weight. Some parts play with dark areas lit only by a hand flashlight, but they are short. I REALLY love that Valve did not put in many jump scares and that enemies are mostly obvious to the direction they will be coming. So for me, I was able to get past all the parts and I am almost done with the game without a single NOPE moment. Nothing is worse than liking a game only to get to a level to scary to play through. That didn't happen to me with Alyx.
Now, having never played a Half LIfe game.. most of the stuff was relatively easy to pick up on. I don't think I paid a price for not having played the other games, except for late in the game when I had to figure out how to kill a certain monster type that wasn't obvious at first costing me some much needed ammo.
Overall.. HLA is a great game. It is very linear and path based, which is rare these days of open world games. But I actually found that kinda rewarding as you always knew where to go or what needed to be done was here somewhere, so you could figure it out. In an open world game.. you could have gotten stuck for hours.
Anyway.. it is without doubt the best VR game to date. So if for no other reason than to see what VR is capable of.. I recommend HLA.

All the Trine your used too... the puzzles, the amazing art style, etc.. are back in a really really long adventure. The Trine series is unique in many ways.. and if you've played and enjoyed any of the previous Trine games, you'll love this one as well. 10/10.. the series is only getting better with age and they haven't taken any shortcuts.

The word 'Amazing' doesn't do this software justice. This is one of those things that if 20 years ago, you would tell me I would one day be able to do, I'd laugh at you and tell you your crazy.
This is Google Earth.. sorta like the one on the web.. except you can fly around in it, or stroll down a street, or change the time of day.. the jaw dropping part is when your in certain areas, say a United States location, like NYC, and you can fly down to the ground at some random street corner. You can then look at a building, and then hold the controller to your face and can go street view and the street view is a 360 picture of that EXACT spot. So you can see the Statue of Liberty from many angles.. or parts of NYC.
I just love exploring random areas of the world with this software and also seeing my local area in a new way. I highly recommend trying it out in VR as it is really amazing.

A simple Football-ish game consisting of a 2 minute drill to get to the end zone. Is it perfect? No. Is it realistic? No. Does my arm hurt after playing this game for the last few days, YES!
But what I really like about this game is it completely reminds me of the OLD early days of Madden NFL but in VR! It wasn't perfect or realistic then either, but was more fun than any Madden NFL since.
So if you want a fun VR football style game to throw some deep passes or screens, or shuttle passes.. this is your game. But if you need 4 quarters, flags, etc... then stay away. This is more for the fun crowd and less for the football fan.
It includes the ability to design your own plays and a fun little bonus round after you score where you pass footballs through things, etc.. but overall.. the game is just a passing simulator.. but it is sooo fun.
