And it's true, there will be a lot of fighting.

Monster Hunter Lite meets Shadow of the Colossus.
~50 hours of content for 100% achievement along with crafting a few max gear sets.
Enjoyable gaming experience. Props to Yellow Brick on their first release and wishing them future success.

PROS
+ Lovely sense of wonder and discovery each new area/boss. Go in blind
+ Excellent crafting system with full refund-ability, enables swapping builds and experimenting with no downside cost
+ Intricately built world with deep lore and interesting factions and races
+ Enjoyable story and companion characters (fully voiced)
+ Nice armor designs and character customization
+ Fun to explore, even when revisiting a map to discover a new area (surprising map verticality)
+ Lots to collect (loot, blueprints, codex entries)


CONS
- No camera pan-out when fighting bosses. Finicky. Compounds with animation lag (mashing heal as you wait to complete standing up)
- Final boss is significantly frustrating compared to all other bosses (unintuitive to discover the recipe to beat it)
- Spell balance. Of the 9 spells, I found 3 exceptionally good, 3 mid, and 3 saw minimal play
- The villain is just OK
- Repetition of grinding the same bosses for legendary materials. Hold off until mid/late game, the drop rate rockets up from 1 per harvest to 5 per slaying
- I read about 70% of the lore, the rest was just too much reading too little gaming

Predecessor to one of the best cooperative PvE experiences out there. It's a great game!

Great to relax and play at your own pace. The Outback setting is fantastic. Definitely recommend to scratch that Animal Crossing / Harvest Moon / Stardew Valley itch.

So enjoyable that I played it to 100% While the story doesn't break any boundaries, the cast of characters is great, the combat is immensely satisfying, and the world is beautiful. Despite a linear story, it's a stand-out in the Tales series and was worth every dollar and hour spent.

Shooting is fun and the game is pretty, but it takes 20 mins of crouch walking and following bright blue glowing tracks to get to the animal sighting and shooting. I guess hunting games aren't for me, but I just can't set aside 2 hours to where half my payout goes to replenishing ammunition. It's too close to a real life walking/waiting sim and not enough of a video game.

How is this game $3?! Seriously, just get it. Amazing roguelite
