the more i consider playing rust, the more i wish this game took off.
Although I'll add that the material cost and starting grind is astronomically high to get to a comfortable mid point in the game.

Man I love the control universe so this is kind of a shame.
But it NEEDS a better way to communicate. I was surprised to see no voice chat but no text chat either??? C'mon.
Another thing is shooting enemies feels weird. Like they react to getting hit super late and very dramatically or don't respond at all. No middle ground?
I also hate the big red health bars over the enemies. Games need to purge out hitmarker graphics and sounds as well as do away with damage numbers (not here tho) and health bars. Let immersion stand front and center please. This isn't an RPG MMO.

Another issue is there's no way to reconnect. my internet cuts out every 20-30~ mins for like 5 seconds. It instantly boots me back without waiting or trying to get me back in, then i just get stuck on a menu loading screen forever unless i reboot the game. Which makes it unplayable for my setup. Shame too since i was looking forwards to liking this one.

No idea why there's so many drug style video games in early access and this one is not that different.
You get weed seeds, grow it, sell it, get dealers who buy in bulk. That's it.
The demo is EXTREMELY bare bones and the fact that it's in EA makes be believe that there really isn't that much there past growing and selling weed... and like 5 'different' kinds of weed at that.
Very boring demo.

This is such a far cry from the amazing game that was/is payday 2. Payday 2 was def my favorite game for a long long time and id still put it in my top 5. But this game just saddens me. For now i suggest waiting like 3+ years for the game to go on a huge sale and when theres more free content. I wouldnt value the current state at more than $15.

The biggest downside to this game for me is having no proper lobby system. There's no way to talk properly before a heist. and after it ends, everything immediately just gets cut off. I LOVED talking to people after a heist or finding a solid group of players and running multiple heists with them. talking before, during, and after the heist. I made a ton of steam friends that way and we would even spend time working together towards some achievement or goal like an Easter egg or getting a difficulty mask. But here it's non existent. Just thrown out completely. And people hardly use the chat as it is because the default chat box size is so damn small.
I HATE the new minimalist style everyone's been going with now a days. Stop trying to do what everyone else is doing. Do your own thing. we loved payday 2 because of how different and unique it was.

Where is crime net? what if i want to join a loud heist? what if i want to join a stealth heist? Holy sh!t i hate conventional matchmaking so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much.

Where's pre planning? i hope thats in development atleast.

I understood there would be a lack of content as payday 2 was developed for years and years but this much? there's like nothing here to even begin with. And what got me to even write this negative review was the fact you just released a new $25 cad PAID dlc???? With the natural lack of content and features in an unfinished, rushed game, your first goal was to push out paid content? oh fk off.

the new leveling system to unlock attachments sucks
leveling skills by being forced to play in that tree for extended periods of time instead of having a normal skill tree sucks
the new armor and armor chunk system sucks

I do like the new stealth mechanics as well as loud enemies. Armored swat actually feel armored. Although this has led to almost being forced to go for headshots or you run out of ammo after just a few short minutes.

idk. it just feels like payday lost its soul here in favor of faster development and quick $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
If any ceo's or exec's are making gameplay decisions, just f@ck right off please. This isnt an apple thing. don't make your game like the million and one clones out there. Give the wheel back to overkill and the developers.

Such an underrated hidden gem of a game.
LOVE the strategy and lack of hand holding. If you wanna win and get far, you have to dive deeper into the systems and play and learn to use all the tools made available to you. Taking things at surface level wont get you too far.
I think that's highfleet's biggest strength.

I also love the chaotic, explosive, fun combat systems here. Alotta others saying it doesnt fit with the rest of the theme but fail to see how strategy and planning ahead play a direct role in how combat is approached or even avoided entirely.

The only downside i see is there aren't more frequent updates. It could also do with some fresh content to up replayability but. Still a solid game.

Just no-life beat it and. Wow what a game. No doubt this sweeps for game of the year. Easily.

My mild complaints would be
picking a custom character you don't really get a backstory or anything and i felt like a side character to my companions who all had deep and very well written back stories and current story arcs. And i had nothing? i felt like the side character
But i did pick a custom character so... I also don't like how you choose voice lines at the start but you have a mute character for the rest of the game when you do play. Seems odd.

The ending also feels a bit rushed with other sub plots just kinda left out? No after party. Only a few characters speak. and then the credits role. I was expecting alot more out of the ending but the quality of it didn't match with the quality of the rest of the game. I think it needs to be updated and re done.

It also felt like alot of consequence heavy choices i made didn't really end up having a down side. Which i thought would come back into play at the end. but nothing bad happened. Which is also lame. Morally grey choices should have some lore downside and not just upsides.

But aside from that. I loved the extremely dynamic story. I love that the devs reward you for being clever and thinking of out of the box solutions. I ended up loving all the characters. I don't think there were any weak or forgettable people. VA's Did amazing. I loved the sheer massive amount of content and even after doing a 70 hour playthrough i know there was a ton of things i dint experience or get to do that other people found.
I actually think i found a unique ending myself too that others in the community didn't know about. I loved that the devs let you become crazy strong well before the ending so you actually get to flex and use all your sick powers for some time.

Act 1 and 2 were very good but i think the game shines in Act 3. which is also the longest act. And where most of the side stories culminate or end up tying into the main story. And the main story gets even stronger.

I also LOVED the House of Hope raid. i think that was probably my all time top 5 video game levels. Wondering how many people end up even finding that entire sequence and huge main story divergent option since it was kinda low key and hidden away. And i wonder how many other scenarios like that exist.

It's Payday fellas.

One of my all time favorite games. easy top 5.
Turn up the techno dubstep, grab a heavily modded sick gun, and kill hordes of cops with friends.
What else do you need>?

The hidden lore and story of payday is also pretty damn good. Not something i was initially expecting.
The abilities and class like systems add another layer of depth to the gunplay. And it has quite a bit of build diversity surprisingly.

And with constant updates there's tons of content to play through. $12 for the base game or $24 for all the dlc is an amazing deal. You get way more than you pay for. They did try to include lootboxes with skins and some mild ingame boosts that came with it but listed to the communities backlash and ended up making everything free. That earned my respect.

One of my favorite games of all time. I'd place it in the top 5 and give it a 10/10
Here some pros:
The gameplay feels absolutely amazing, and the time you put into grinding for more power will show and make a world of difference. It nails power progression. Something most other MMO's or games in general fail at or struggle to get.

The story is one of the best stories i've experienced out of any game ive ever played. The deep lore, world building, character building, easter eggs, connections to other in game events, Direct player involvment. Masterpiece.
The fact that it is a live service game keeps me curious about what comes next, even though the main story arc has concluded.
Story is an easy 11/10 (Man in the wall story arc when????)

This game is truly free to play. Yes they do have a shop where you can buy ingame items or cosmetics but it is not worth it at all to buy items from there. Instead find out how to get them and grind for them. The grind for most items isn't too bad. The other amazing thing you can do is grind and collect other rare items and trade them to players for the ingame premium currency.
You can literally get the premium currency to buy cosmetics or trade for other rare items while being totally free to play.

Warframe is one of the few games that also makes the grind and gameplay loop fun. In most other games people always complain about long mindless grinds but i think warframe's core gameplay is so damn fun that it isn't a drawback. And the grind for the rare item's isn't nearly as bad as other MMO's either. There's no gambling or Gacha mechanics. Everything you do makes you progress or makes you stronger.

My only complaints are sometimes it almost forces you to do things that... have no place in the game or should be completely optional. Like
Vehicle missions...
Fishing..... urghhhh
Running around the open world trying to farm rocks or plants..
Like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ just let me run around with my dope @ss bio mech ninja committing war crimes and ending entire races. Thankfully those part's dont take up too much time.

Gotta give it a thumbs down until there's squad size matchmaking. The long time to kill makes it impossible to win fights against more players since they will always out DPS you. That combined with the armor system that gives people complete coverage makes it brutal running solo.

Using Tarkov as reference.
It's alot harder to fight squads yes but it's very doable. In tarkov there will always be weak points, exposed faces, legs, that you can shoot to take down even the biggest chads and then quickly swap to his buddy's. And since the TTK is alot lower, swapping targets quickly before more start pushing or shooting you is very possible.

Look at APEX. they have a similarly long TTK too but it's balanced with squad size matchmaking.
