If you liked ark survival, obviously this is kind of a knock off, It can stand on its own for sure, but is very similar in a lot of ways, crafting, building, and taming being the most obvious.
Pros - good survival mechanics, ship battles and the pirate aspect.
Cons - pvp is clunky and unbalanced, needs more performance optimization, and.... Why haven't I played more hours?
It needs a full blown in-depth questing system, with a coherent story line and the sailing needs to be much more user friendly (easy), a menu wheel is just dumb and tedious. 3rd person sailing is fun, just using a mouse and keyboard, and then switch to different mode when needed.

Well, lets see
Pros --- Looks very nice, plays very nice, the customization is a nice change. Single player is pretty good.

Cons--- Small maps, only 12 players, 6 on 6, for all gamemodes.., only 9 maps in the base game and only 3 for the war mode, which is a nice gamemode, and if you pay another 50 bucks you will get some more maps i guess..., and cheating is a problem, 25000 banned in the first months of game release.

Pretty sure most people calling for a redux ww2 game didn't want 12 player total per game, at least 24 would be ok.

Have to say dont buy.

Overall, stunning game, looks great, huge amount of content, an addictive game, and they are constantly adding more stuff. Negatives are minimal, some consistent latency, which I assume is a server update sweep. Obviously there is some grinding, you have to lvl in order to get to the really cool stuff, so it is time consuming for sure. PVP has huge potential for some good battles, but they do not have any balance in the game yet, so almost all official pvp servers are run by an alpha tribe. Pve might be best experience for most. I mean flying around on a pteradactl dive bombing other players on there T-REX with a tamable monkey on your shoulder, pretty cool.

Tactical FPS, with lots of mods, open source scripting, you can create your own missions and put them on your own server. Has some bugs and quirks, but worth the money. Looks good too, runs best with intel quad core for sure.

Looks nice for stand alone source mod, combines a little bit of red orchestra gameplay and old school medal of honor spearhead feel. Big problem with the gameplay on the maps, spawn killing and too many choke points. Players are able to use cliping spots on maps and huge problem with the visibility of players, which is linked to map problems again. I guess if player movement was a little less tactical I could overcome these problems, but that probably wont happen.
