as much as I want to like the game, I cannot in good faith recommend it. This is for a litany of issues that I will detail.

PERFORMANCE: The game performs much worse than it should - even after the latest round of performance updates on 02/18/2026. I have a 9070XT, 9800X3D, and 64GB of 6400MHz RAM. I should not be having frame drops, inconsistent frame pacing, freezes, stutters and every other issue under the sun with my specs; but Wilds makes it so.


GAMEPLAY: Until this latest round of Gogmagios and 10* monsters being added (lol), the game was piss easy. Focus mode trivializes everything in low rank and most of high rank, with the exception of 8*s and above that they added post launch because of how stupid focus mode and wounds you can inflict are.The issues that have arisen from focus mode being so utterly broken have led to monsters already having more HP than 4P Fatalis from Iceborne. It is a stark downgrade from rise and world to attempt to appeal more people, and it has utterly rejected me and many others who have enjoyed Monster Hunter for years prior.

Do not buy this game. Play Rise+Sunbreak or World+Iceborne, or go play one of the old world games like 4U if you have access to a 3DS or an emulator.
