Hello, TemTem community and developers,

This is an open letter from me, a supporter who purchased Temtem on the very first day that it was available on Steam way back in Early Access, and has followed the development of your game from the very beginning. I hope that you take a moment to consider my feedback. I would like to explain to you why your game went from Overwhelmingly Positive to Mixed on Steam.

Price and Value

When I purchased Temtem originally, it was half the price that it is now, for 1/10th or less of the content. Since then not only have you doubled the price of the game but you have also introduced microtransactions in the form of a battle pass. Gamers have less disposable income per capita now than they did in 2020 when I purchased Temtem. Your game is now among the most expensive games on Steam. With respect, people have trouble paying this much for AAA titles, let alone indie games with dated graphics that also have microtransactions on top.

Novelty

When Temtem first came out, it was fairly unique in that there were not many Pokemon rip off type games that had meaningful development resources. Temtem stood out alone as the only good choice. 2 years later, there are quite a few other titles to choose from.
Hostile Community Management

Any time I have seen any kind of constructive criticism being aimed at the Temtem developers, the discord mods and community are quick to spring to the games defense, often quite rudely and dismissively. This says to me that the developers have far too much ego and believe that consumers are idiots.

In Summary:

Temtem was released far too early. It was a beta, sold at full price as an early access game. 2 years later it is finally releasing in something close to a completed state, and it is double the price and also has a battle pass microtransaction scheme attached.

For all of what I am saying above, I am updating my original positive 2020 Steam review to a negative one and advising people not to buy this game.

Cheers,

Jass

Forts is a pretty fun game but it suffers from being just a bit too simple. There aren't enough weapon types to keep the game interesting, which leads to most games feeling like a game of rock paper scissors. The variety of maps make it a fun Worms-style diversion but I can't see most people playing it for more than a few rounds, saying "well that was neat" and putting it down.

6/10, fun, but it should be like $5

AirMech has some pretty enjoyable gameplay which can basically be summarized as Wintermaul meets Dota meets Starcraft.

You pick from a selection of varied mechs which serve as hero classes with all the usual suspects: dps, support, tanks, etc

Then you customize a loadout of creeps (from a relatively small pool) which will be available for you to spawn in game. This allows you to craft your army's composition based on what you want to do.

The actual gameplay is MOBA esque with combat taking place down lanes. Players (solo, or in teams of 2 or 3) capture outposts to generate additional income, with the ultimate goal of destroying the enemy's fortress.

Overall, a fun game.. but I feel like the aiming/hitboxes could be a bit tighter.

7.5/10
