NOTE: This is only addressing Yakuza Kiwami 3, as I've yet to mess with Dark Ties, but assumingly it suffers from the same issues.

By far the worst product RGG has ever made, have yet to finish it but just in my 20ish hours, this is unacceptable levels of mediocrity.

if you remove everything and just judge this game as it plays, it's BARELY acceptable replacement for Yakuza 3 (a game which suffered from an incredibly rushed development on very new hardware, mind you) and can only hold this title due to heavy asset reuse and system reimplementation from games made over a decade ago.

This strips away asinine levels of content, even more than the original Yakuza 3's US localization and adds yet another wave of retcons and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to justify yet another 5 years of "UHH WELL WE NEED ANOTHER PLOT TWIST!! LETS BRING BACK... *throws dart at board* THIS GUY!!"

I will never buy another RGG game going forward unless there are sincere and drastic changes in the very very near future. Please let this franchise die, stop ruining this thing I used to love with all my heart.

i beat this game in one day and it kicks ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass

absolutely did not care for this game, maybe RGG's worst minus the minigames, which were a lot better than prior entries (where they controlled pretty universally poorly, so that isnt saying much)

lots of fun, can recommend if you enjoy mafia-type games, but they NEED to patch in some kind of system to stop games from ending the second ONE PLAYER leaves. I'd also like the ability to the player cap.

REALLY don't care for there being TWO battle passes, on top of being 10 dollars, but I'd still recommend it despite that. Please don't abandon this game and ♥♥♥♥ me over.

this is one of the games that makes me wish there was a middle recommendation.

if you really like early/mid-stage Hussie (Problem sleuth, Homestuck Vol 1-4) you'll REALLY enjoy this, once you can get past the vast amounts of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ we've all come to know and love from anything Hussie makes (hyper self indulgent writing, over the top details meant to poke fun at the reader for even bothering to read it and take it seriously)

This game is a blatant hit piece on all those on the internet Hussie never appreciated consuming his work, and generally taking space on the internet as a whole, and I was pleasantly surprised by the game nearing the end.

The message of this game is strange, and tends to be a little all over the place (common for Hussie), which makes the epilogue which blatantly spells everything out feel all the more satisfying, even for those who caught on early, as it feels like you're finally being vindicated near the end.

This needed an editor, never should have cost money in the first place, and Hussie's getting too old to write like a 20-something, but this has all the charm and aspects of his work I've admired over the years.
