Every moment of it was enjoyable and it's a great love letter to the rest of the franchise.

Great game with a cool world and dungeons. Ending slides are still a bit buggy but otherwise it's mostly bug-free now. Could do with being a bit harder towards the end. Best TES-like game I played, though.

Excellent campaign on par with the originals and a cool new civilisation with distinct identity.

Peak, 10/10. The game knows what it wants to be and nails it in every way.

Amazing game, spiritual successor to Bloodborne and the closest thing to it you'll find on PC.

Good game unfairly vilified, but overall not an amazing one. Story and dialogue are good enough, the companions are decent and humorous, though on neither of these does the game compare to the original Pillars of Eternity. The world, art-style and music are excellent. Could do with more enemy variety and deeper skill trees, the game started to outstay it's welcome towards the end due to repetitive combat.

Baldur's Gate 3 is an amazing game until you get to Act 3. At this point it becomes clear that they rushed out the game to make sure it arrives on the market before Starfield. Many things have been cut from Act 3, bugs become very prevalent where Acts 1 and 2 are extremely polished. The ending is a travesty - no ending slides, just a couple of minutes total of vague cutscenes giving you no real insight into what your choices mean for the future of the people you affect through the game.

Perhaps when the inevitable Definitive Edition comes out, I will change this review to a recommendation. As it stands, it's the usual Larian classic where the early acts are amazing and the final ones fall apart due to rush. SIX years in development and key elements were abandoned to rush it out the door at the end.

Edit: Since release, they finally added an epilogue and fixed many of the bugs. I still stand by my criticisms, but this overall is an amazing game and these fixes tip it back over to a recommendation. In it's state now, it can be fully enjoyed! It's just a shame that the missing elements are so obvious.
