I want an apology for this game.

I tried this months ago with my old PC, and with the tech I had, that met the recommended specs, had me stuck in a buggy menu, with previous options and mouse locations not clearing off the screen. Months later with improved tech, thought I'd give this port another shot. I just do not enjoy this game. From moment one, it asked me to turn the camera. From moment two, it locked said camera. I hate your experience, thatgamecompany, I want a game. I kept going, I went to look around collecting the scarf upgrades. Someone had joined my game, but quit a minute later when he saw I was still looking. This was pretty much the only player to have joined my session, which makes it feel awful in retrospect. I felt bad for trying to make the game fun. The movement, when you're given the privilege, is rather fun, but they keep it to a minimum to make the major moments stand out. I'm punished for trying to have fun when I fly with the kite creatures, only to then fall and have none of them around to give me some energy. There are moments when the movement is restricted for clear reasons, the climax of the game makes total sense, but I'm not sure why I was punished so early for making use of the mechanic when the game seemed to be trying to pump you up.

I felt railroaded in a desert, the most barren but open biomes of the world, and I don't want to ride this train again, even with the scenery as gorgeous as it is

This is basically Binding of Isaac with guns and more movement options. While RNG is a major part of a rouge-like, Gungeon more heavily rewards skill and the base kit of many of its characters are great starting points to where I'm completely fine just using the starting pistol for the first 5 (out of 6) floors, excluding most bosses. This allows for bad rolls of the dice to not feel quite as daunting as in other games as you can still manage fairly well without an OP weapon or item. With the addition of synergizes, even some bad weapons can suddenly become good if you hold on to it for long enough. Some items like an ant gun that shoots oil and then switches to mild fire on reload and back to oil again (couldn't tell you why) are fairly weak weapons on their own, as many bosses are immune to fire hazards, which the gun excels in. But quite a few items, if in your inventory while holding the ant, make the weapon into a queen ant that you can fire off for massive damage and reload quickly. The game, as you can tell by this point, is rather absurdist and I love it. Gungeon is at this point one of my favorite rouge-likes, right next to Slay the Spire, and I highly recommend it

140 is a musical platformer made by the same creator of Limbo. It's not as hard as the aforementioned game, but still provides good challenge, level design, some nice mechanics, and of course, music!

And if you want it harder, beat the main three worlds to unlock mirrored versions of those worlds that have no checkpoints! You're gonna die more than Dark Souls then, have fun!

I watch the people grow, then ruin their lives. 9/10. Only complaint is I wish I could have a larger planet, but I guess that adds to the difficulty and the feeling of being a god. Who do I let prosper? These people need more land, but I don't want to take it away fro- screw it, killing the others.
