Simply one of those indie gems that you have to pick up at some point in your life. KSP offers an extremely deep experience and you can sink hours on end into developing your own space-faring enterprise. The latest patches have adressed a lot of the content issues that I personally had, such as the apparent lack of goals within the game before these patches.

I'm thrilled to see that the game has finally reached the milestones in development where they appeal to a broader mass than just space/tech/science-junkies such as myself. Definately worth a buy if you haven't got it in your library already. The game is inching forward at a good pace and it's obvious that the developers share the communities love for the game.

TL;DR; If you enjoy a more slow-paced experience and strategic planning/execution, this game is a definate must-have.

STAY AWAY!

I had very high hopes for Godus, with the persistant world promises and actual civilization building á la populous meets settlers. However this is nothing but false promises or broken mechanics, at best. The whole game is a complete and utter disappointment, possibly the worst let down I've ever been served by mr. Molyneux - and I've played all his titles.

It's nothing but a pay-to-wait game with a premium price-tag slapped on top to really milk every cent from your pockets. They've introduced a gem-shop (that they claim will never be charging actual money.... yeah, right). I don't want to spend half the cost of a AAA-title to sit around and NOT PLAY THE GAME while waiting for all these idiotic timers to tick down. No, it's just not 5 minutse or 10 minutes here and there, EVERY SINGLE BUILDING is blocked by timers that can stretch upwards 24 HOURS. I have 12 hours on record on steam, with a good 30 piled into it in offline mode. Even after my first 6 hours of playing, I ended up in a situation where I could do nothing but WAIT for an hour until I could continue playing the game. Further developing my settlement took me a WEEK OF WAITING within my initial 20 hours of total play time!

There is absolutely NO reason what so ever to buy this game, or even look at this steam store page. THEY DO NOT DESERVE YOUR TIME. The mere fact that you're reading this is bad enough. MOVE ALONG!

DO
NOT
BUY

Solid gameplay with a few quirks. Still has a long way to go before becoming the end-all-grand-RTS of the 20th century (knocking down SupCom from it's throne). Sadly it still doesn't run as good as one would hope this late in development. It's not uncommon to see frame rates dipping down to the low 20's (or even 10's) when you reach late game, even on a very good gaming rig.

This game still has its training wheels on, even though it's supposed to release some time early next year. I really hope UBER has some tricks up their sleeves, otherwise this might very well end up being a crash and burn.

As it is now I would only recommend it to die-hard fans of the grand-RTS genre, mostly because of the hefty price tag (which admittedly it's not worth in its current state), but also due to the fact that the game is extremely unbalanced by design. Some units cannot be countered simply because the counters haven't been implemented yet. Planetary combat is also nothing like in the videos; as of the current build you can only ship one unit at a time across the solar system. This is in a game where an army consisting of 200 units is considered small.

All in all: 2.5/5 in it's current state. Buy if you like games like Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander or Rise of Nations. Stay away if you're more into Starcraft and Age of Empires. Keep an eye on it though, things are bound to improve over the next month(s).

(Then again, you can crash planets into each other....)

Bland and dull. It's simply a constant deathmatch, with some classic handheld "f2p"-elements chucked in. To make matters worse, it took me an hour to get it to install and properly (SLI rig). It also has a habit of just acting wierdly, such as displaying the mouse cursor at random times. Tutorial is a three minute runthrough that apparently explains some lore. Besides the standard "use WSAD" to move, there's not much else being explained, such as class or game mechanics. I really tried giving the benefit of doubt, but after the fifth crash and tenth "failed to install third party component" I just gave up.

All in all, 2/5. Could have been good, but in the end fails to deliver anything but a badly implemented CryEngine.
