Quite possibly the most immaculately-paced game I've ever played, punches unbelievably far above its weight class (15 professional roles, 38 thanks according to Mobygames) with lovely art direction, a wicked OST and no real punches held back. There's no room for beating around the bush when you're dealing with fascists.

Very solid GBC/ZXS homage game, the gameplay coming in two halves: The classic jrpg town and world exploring, and the encounters are top-down bullet hell type. All around exudes an extremely warm, comfy feeling; and a surprising relationship. Love triumphs.

Insanely overhated game. Cool game world, excellent character dynamics, and a well above-average and demanding combat system likely humbling gamers who think they're good until they touch something approaching Ninja Gaiden.

Guy who sucks at being a person sees huge potential in AI onion dot com 2023.

Gotta love pushing an update that bricks PCs and tanks performance while proceeding to go up for bat on generative AI.

Fastest way to lose me on your FPS: Putting an XP grind in front of gameplay-affecting unlocks that stack and level up as well. Want to play as the funny character I saw, can't because arbitrary XP unlock xd

Fuga: Melodies of Steel is a harrowing reminder that at any time one of the most unique franchises to grace the medium can be reduced to its bare minimum of character and turned into an aggressively "above average" turn-based JRPG.

I thoroughly refuse to believe this was given the love and treatment something like their previous work Solatorobo did. Just because there's a long gap between main releases doesn't mean there's development time spent on it in a meaningful way, especially when you consider they were more concerned with their MMO (did you know that exists?) in between.

I think it's confirmed when they have a planned release date for Fuga 2 coming next year, and if their trailer is anything to go by is a glorified copy-paste job.

Good game, bad demo. Some areas look good with the lighting, others do not; I love the analogy of "you have this sterile abandoned facility and you go and cover it up in a 2017 Minecraft shader pack."
