This is really well polished for a game just entering Early Access. The movement is satisfying, the combat is fluid, the weapons are fun and diverse, the progression seems fairly well balanced. I'm sure there are more to come, but the enemies currently in game are interesting and have fun mechanics. There are a ton of ways to customize your kit each run and the differences in my abilities from run to run is tangible. That goes a long way to making you play differently each run, which keeps the gameplay loop pretty fresh.

Criticisms: Jumping up onto ledges is a little clunky, but it's so early in development that I'm confident they'll address it at some point. I think the presentation of what effects do could be a little clearer. Maybe making the UI a little more user-friendly would help with that, but again, we're freshly into Early Access with this title. My complaints are minor and are easily out-weighed by the things I love about the game.

Gunfire Reborn is well worth $12 in its current state and I'll be playing the hell out of it!
