The core gameplay is fun and solid, but it's a bit thin on content and features at the moment. It has a lot of personality if you like gallows humor. A few bugs, but nothing game-breaking. Overall, this game feels like a promising proof of concept phase for a sequel with more features, but it's genuinely fun to play right now.

Plays like a free mobile game. Half an hour in, I'm done. This game's success in the reviews confuses me.

I bought this game at 11 am on my day off. It's now 3 am, I'm tired, thirsty, hungry, and my bladder is about to explode. They say this game is designed to hack the pleasure center of your brain; they are correct, it does that, yes. Did you know you can play as the garlic-munching geezer in the trailer? His name is Poe 🧄

tldr; If you're hoping for a fun, engaging, inspired management simulation based on the SCP Foundation collaborative writing project, you have found it! I'm gonna come back to this one a lot and I bet you will too.

Note that this game hasn't been updated in three years, so what you see is what you get.

The poor localization can sully the experience some, not to mention steepen the learning curve. Quality of life improvements are locked behind progress points, which is a bad call in my opinion. The music gets repetitive fast, so have your playlists ready.

Significant graphics weirdness. Sprites often render incorrectly, with features like glasses absent or misaligned. The hair colors are weird on the appearance customizer, you can't really do blonde or ginger, for example, it's all weird anime colors, even when you pick the RGB values in an another program.

The anime archetypes are all here and they're annoying as ever. There are insufferable edgelords and in the intro your AI assistant spends the first several dialogues rambling about how beautiful she is. I wish the AI department heads had been presented as vastly different, non-anthropomorphized artifical intelligences, they would have had a lot more style and personality.

Broad and shallow. I got to the end and thought, "This can't be everything...can it? Oh good god it is." It looks way more promising in the beginning than it is. Twelve hours in, I don't see me playing this a second time.

Holy hot sauce this game is SO FUN. And it kinda broke me a couple of times early on because I love to write and I get attached to characters - but that's okay, because this game will break you of that very quickly (RIP, Ezekiel the Leper, eaten by a wizened hag). Engineering effective parties is a lot of fun (Houndmaster-Occultist-Bounty Hunter-Man At Arms is one of my personal favorites). The mood, the art style, the narration, the gameplay...it's such an inspired game. A pitch-perfect blend of gothic horror and cosmic dread, easily put down and picked back up and yet also somehow with a strong, fluid sense of continuity, this is gonna be one of those games I come back to for many years. I love love love this game.

Update: I had to uninstall this game this morning because I have a project deadline in ten days and I did nothing yesterday but play Darkest Dungeon. I'm kind of embarrassed, but there you go.

The one thing that annoys the absolute fire out of me is that every time you exit the map quest page, it deselects the quest you selected and automatically selects a different one. I'm aghast that the developers thought that was okay. That is a really stupid quality of life oversight.

My go-to first person shooter. The golden standard, by my admittedly casual assessment. Great fun, great way to unwind and I particularly approve of the remastered levels from my youth.

I can't believe I've never posted a review for one of my favorite games. I have my family mod where my siblings and cousins all raise a dynasty of little Viking monsters and turn the British Isles into one giant temple to Freyja. Praise the Lady of the Slain! 10/10.

I hate to drop a downvote on this one, I really want to like it, but it's a bugfest. This wasn't ready to come out of early access. Edit: seriously y'all, fix your busted-up game.

Edit following latest update: still pretty clunky, new bugs; earlier review stands.

Potato graphics and a clunky single player experience. Half an hour in, I'm all done.
