(REVIEW FOR HALO: REACH ON THE MCC ONLY)
Let me preface this by stating I have played on a wide variety of platforms (Nintendo, Playstation, Xbox, PC, etc), so I have seen many a port in my lifetime. Some good, some bad. A few months ago, my friends and I hopped on ye olde Xbox 360 to play Halo: Reach in its original form and I'm not exaggerating when I say this: it was basically unplayable. I remembered it being so beautiful and fluid (which it was for its time) but at around 20-30 frames per second, both my friend and I felt like we were playing a slideshow. Most likely we were spoiled by modern technological standards for games, but despite having deep-rooted love and nostalgia for Reach, we had to call it quits after about an hour. In comes the new port in the MCC for PC. No, this is not an "anniversary edition" of Halo: Reach. On Xbox One X, Halo 2 Anniversary is breathtaking, and I cannot wait for it to come to PC...no, this is straight up Halo: Reach as a port.

However, this port improves almost everything I wanted it to. The framerate is fixed, as one would expect, and it doesn't falter. The textures may or may not have had a resolution bump, but they still look very crisp for such an old game. With the variety of mode options the MCC offers, reliving my childhood maps with modern tech has been a blast. I can't speak for the campaign yet, but the multiplayer alone is like a blast from the past--without all the headache. 10/10 would recommend.

My girlfriend spent this entire night kicking my ass. Controller recommended.

Anywho, terrific game.
