EDIT: Constant meta changes and the willingness to give in to the latest set of vocal whingers has turned me off this title.

The insistence on lowering the skill ceiling is mind numbing. Removal of lean spam, allowing everyone to heal and a level required reductions for unlocks are the latest screw ups from the team.

A Battlefield 3 Demake - But wait! Thats high praise for this low poly shooter!

Battlefield 2/3s squad mechanics, 3/4's class system and unlock trees with Battlefield 4s 'Levolution' effects and environmental destruction - not as in your face as Bad Companys but still great to see. All of this with 256 player vehicular battles and optimised to run on virtually any modern GPU.

The maps play out like old Battlefield 2, there is so much depth within the game and its unlocks and with a few tweaks the class system could really promote squad play.

My only issues with balance are that Medics are once again meta, for all the wrong reasons. I main medics for the heals and points however this universal soldier has access to the most weapons/gadgets and can self heal. Easily fixed by limiting the medics to just assault rifles rather than SMGs and the like.

The only thing lacking from this title being a true Battlefield game is the soundscape. Incoming fire needs more punch, the crack of the air as bullets whip by just is not there yet and the weapons lack weight in their respective sounds when fired. All fixable as the budget for such recordings has increased.

I thought Id have some issues with the mil sim remnants being present in the game (bandaging, combining mags) but I actually enjoy the added depth.

A must own game for any Battlefield fan and a great game for any FPS fan.

The game is in the oven. If you try it now, its a little gooey, will burn your mouth but you'll still come back for more. But youll always have those burns in your mouth. If you leave it in the oven to bake and come back, once its cooked and cooled, it will be the best game you've ever eaten.
