If you're a fan of the original Dragon's Dogma you'll enjoy this game.

If you saw the potential and vision of the original but were fed up with how incomplete it was this is that finished experience.

This game is everything expected and hoped for in a follow up to Dragon's Dogma. A world beset by a fearsome Dragon with two nations to explore and interesting quests to complete. A balanced amount of indoor and outdoor evironments to explore making you wonder what you'll find around the next corner. An open world with no loading zones where you can step out of the tavern in the capitol to see that a cyclops is in the square being attacked by the guards while the citizens hide. Climbing monsters.

Unfortunately, like the original, this game isn't perfect. Because the game is seamless the same level of computations for npc pathing and physics are expected to run on all npcs at all times, this is fine when you're out in the wilderness but you'll almost certainly experience reduced frame rates the larger the city you are in as your cpu struggles to keep up. Additionally Capcom has done the same thing they've done for years, tacked on completely worthless mictrotransactions for items that you don't even want or need. They exist solely for people who don't know much about the game to buy thinking they're necessary or will improve the experience when they won't. The most glaring one is the singular portcrystal you can purchase, fans of the original will know that you need more than just a portcrystal to fast travel, you also require ferrystones which must be found or purchase for 10k gold in game. Add on the fact you still need to manually place the portcrystal and you can find many for free in your first playthrough let alone the ones you stack up in potential NG+ it really is for people that think they want more fast travel and don't understand that isn't it.

On a more positive note Capcom have confirmed in multiple places they are actively looking for ways to improve the cpu impact which should increase the frame rates for everyone. I recommend keeping your cpu in mind before you buy and if you think its not good enough then wait for their improvements.

if you're played an AC game before this game checks all the boxes you'd expect in a modern package

if you've never played an AC game before be prepared for:
-multiple parts to choose from to balance stats for different playstyles
-no iframes
-mission based gameplay structure
-mech on mech violence
-indepth mech painting

A combination of the tv shows Wipeout, Takeshi's Castle, and It's a Knockout all in the style of a BR game featuring the perfect bean men.

A mystery game where you try to unravel the fate of those aboard a missing ship that has drifted to port. A great story with great voice acting and a unique art style on top of hours of deductive reasoning to figure out who everyone is and what happened to them. If anything about this interests you play the game and don't look up any other info. This game is best experienced with as little knowledge as possible.

A game the developers said they would stop updating back in 2012 during version 1.1. It has updated as recently as a week before this review. Every update is what some games would offer as paid dlc but for Terraria they are all free. Even without most of the updates this is still a game that anyone could come back to.

Difficult and rewarding. Once you start playing you don't want to stop until you 1000000% it.
