Liked: Music, giving us actual weapons at the start.
Disliked: Movement, no clear goals or objectives.

I'd say buy on sale. I must've, I was digging through my library and found this. Needs work, but could be something good in the future.

Played this game since the 360 version. What has always kept me coming back (and kept me from really enjoying the 2nd game) has been the unlimited fuel in vehicles, and the map itself in the Story and Breakdown modes. It is simple, but large enough that you will never exhaust it!

Story mode starts off right away, and does a good job of at least making you care about the first two characters (and gives you a reason to care about the third). Unfortunately, these reasons are not highlighted very much again, but you at least have that connection with these first three playable characters.
As you progress, you learn more about how life in Trumball Valley was, and how it was changed. From the NPCs at your first home site, to other characters (later playable) that "share their stories" through randomly generated dialogue on missions. Nothing is too difficult that you will get frustrated and give up. There is, however, the very occasional glitch that, while not game breaking, may take an extra minute or two to solve. Ending mission is a realistic challenge, however there is no "post-game". I will still find myself starting a new game, with Ed's classic RANGER STATION line in the beginning. They really had fun writing these characters.

Breakdown, the first DLC. With YOSE, THIS is why you bought it. Breakdown is 100 levels of increasingly difficult gameplay, on the same map from the story mode. You will be doing the same thing 100 times, but each time you are set up in a random location and just GO. Build a base, survivors, and don't get chewed up by zed. As a callback to the story, the majority of characters from the main storyline are eventually unlockable and playable, as well as a few military faces from the other DLC content, Lifeline.

I have personally completed up to level 9 on Breakdown. And I have no intentions of stopping anytime soon.

Lifeline seems like a great standalone DLC. Its a more urban environment, and you play a military role, extracting VIPs, civilians, and other strategic assets out of a zombie-infested urban jungle. Cannot say too much else as I still have not beaten this mode.
